CUET 2022 Important Notice for Day 3 - July 19

CUET 2022 Important Notice for Day 3 - July 19

CUET 2022 will be conducted on July 19 for the third day of the 10-day window after a hiatus of two days. The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued an urgent notice on July 18 evening. The notice states, “Several queries have been received from candidates regarding change of Centre for their examination scheduled on 19 July 2022. Candidates are hereby informed that they should go to the Centre mentioned on their Admit Card downloaded from the website https://cuet.samarth.ac.in.”

After the CUET UG 2022 exam centre fiasco caused on Day 1, candidates in the upcoming days have become extra cautious and reached out to NTA to confirm their allotted centre. Unlike the candidates on Day 1, those scheduled to take the test on the third day of CUET 2022 Phase 1 do not want to take any chances regarding their exam centres to avoid last moment hassle.

The notice has been released in the context of the exam centre fiasco caused on the Day 1 of the exam. CUET UG 2022 started on July 15 and the admit card was released on July 13, two days prior to the exam. Several students complained of receiving an incomplete CUET 2022 admit card, which did not mention the exam centre address.

CUET 2022 Exam Centre Fiasco

For some candidates, the exam centres for Slot 1 and Slot 2 on the same day were allotted in different locations. Also, for some candidates, the situation turned even worse as their exam centre was changed at the last moment, which caused them to miss their exam.

Two CUET 2022 exam centres located in Jalpaiguri and Pathankot were cancelled owing to a technical glitch. To compensate for their situation, NTA has announced that such candidates will be given an allotted slot in Phase 2 of the exam. "Over 190 candidates who were to appear at the two centres will now be allowed to appear in the second phase in August. At other centres, the candidates who could not appear due to changes in exam centres will also get another chance," NTA was quoted.

CUET 2022 is being taken by over 14 lakh candidates in exam centres located in 500 cities across India and 14 cities abroad. The exam will be conducted till August 20. The second phase of the test will begin in August. The exam is the gateway to undergraduate course admissions across streams offered in around 90 Central, State, Deemed and Private Universities.
