Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has removed all restrictions in view of the improved COVID-19 situation, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in its latest announcement.

Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has removed all restrictions in view of the improved COVID-19 situation, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in its latest announcement. A tweet posted by the CM from his official Twitter handle reads, “DDMA withdraws all restrictions as the situation improves and people facing hardships due to loss of jobs. Schools to function fully offline from 1 April. Fines for not wearing masks reduced to Rs 500. All should continue following Covid Appropriate Behaviour. Govt will keep strict watch.”
Demands from private schools of Delhi were rising recently with regards to the unconditional reopening of schools. Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal received a letter from the National Progressive Schools' Conference (NPSC), which has over 120 private schools in Delhi as its members. The letter stated that hybrid learning in schools is a hindrance in delivering quality education. The schools also demanded unconditional reopening of schools at the earliest.
After a prolonged closure, schools in Delhi reopened for Classes 9 to 12 on February 7, while nursery to Class 8 reopened from February 18.
Meanwhile, the officials informed that the government will continue doorstep delivery of dry ration kits rather than hot cooked mid-day meals until 100 percent attendance is achieved in Delhi government schools. As soon as 100 per cent attendance is achieved, serving of cooked mid-day meals will begin," an official said.
