JSID Convocation Ceremony 2024 honors achievements in Design Education

This year’s ceremony was particularly special due to JSID’s collaboration with École Intuit Lab, a leading French design school renowned for its innovative approach to design and creative strategy.

JS Institute of Design (JSID), New Delhi, recently honored its graduating class of 2024 at a prestigious convocation ceremony. The event was attended by students, proud parents, faculty members, and industry mentors, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. This year’s ceremony was particularly special due to JSID’s collaboration with École Intuit Lab, a leading French design school renowned for its innovative approach to design and creative strategy.

A Global Collaboration

The convocation was highlighted by the presence of distinguished guests from École Intuit Lab, including Founder Clément Derock and Country Head India Yan Garin. Their participation underscored the importance of international partnerships in enhancing design education. Clément Derock expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We’re delighted to celebrate the achievements of these young designers. We believe that design has the power to transform lives, and we’re excited to see the contributions these students will make.” Yan Garin echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the transformative potential of the design industry and the impact the graduates are poised to make.

Inspiring Words from Esteemed Guests

Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha, the Chief Guest and Founding Dean of ISB and Founder & Trustee of Ashoka University, delivered a motivational address, urging graduates to leverage their creativity and empathy in their professional endeavors. “As you step out of the JSID family and into the professional world, remember that innovation is your driving force, and empathy is your foundation,” he advised. His words aimed to inspire the graduates to apply their unique skills and perspectives in the evolving design landscape.

Awards and Recognition

The ceremony also honored outstanding students for their exceptional achievements. Sweksha Singh, a student from the Postgraduate Interior Design program, was recognized as the Best Academic Performer for her exemplary academic performance. Meanwhile, Sonali Mankotia, from the Postgraduate program in Advertising, Design & Digital Communication, was named Valedictorian, reflecting her academic excellence and leadership.

Future Directions

Nien Siao, Dean of JSID, congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to continue honing their skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and design innovation. “The ceremony was a testament to the institute’s commitment to fostering talent and creativity,” he said.
