Candidates who are allotted seats have to pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm their seats. Candidates who are not allotted seats will be considered in subsequent rounds.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has declared NIFT 2022 seat allotment result for Round II (non-PwD category) on June 21. The allotment was originally scheduled to be announced on June 20 but got delayed. Candidates can check the NIFT 2022 seat allotment status by logging into the allotment portal and entering their email id and password.
The allotment is made based on the NIFT 2022 merit rank of the candidate and choices opted at the time of counseling registration. The institute had earlier declared seat allotment results for Round I on June 14, 2022.

NIFT 2022 Counseling Process
The counseling for NIFT 2022 is being conducted in online mode as a joint seat admission process for the 17 participating NIFTs.
The allotment of seats is conducted separately for PwD and non-PwD candidates. There is a single seat allotment round for the PwD category, whereas the non-PwD category has five rounds.
The allotment of seats is made by considering the following factors:
- The NIFT 2022 merit rank of the candidate
- Academic programs and participating institutes selected at the time of counseling registration and in the order of their preference.

There are a total of 5,023 seats available at the 17 participating NIFTs for the B.Des. B.F.Tech, M.Des, MFM, and M.F.Tech courses.
- B.Des - 2714 seats
- B.F.Tech - 508 seats
- Masters course (M.Des, M.F.Tech, MFM) - 966 seats.
