If two or more candidates score the same marks, the following sequence will be used to determine the merit ranks of candidates.

1. The marks scored by candidates in the test with a higher weightage will be considered to break the tie. For instance, for the B.Des program, since the CAT test carries higher weightage, it will be used to break the tie.
2. Next, the GAT score will be considered. 
3. The marks obtained subject-wise in the following order will be considered: Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability &General Knowledge, and Current Affairs.

Candidates will be shortlisted for a Situation Test based on performance in CAT and GAT written tests. Here are key points about the Situation Test.

1. The situation test is a hands-on test and will evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling and innovative ability in a given situation; materials will be provided to the candidate.
2. Using the given material, the candidate has to make a model/design.
3. The candidate is not allowed to use any other material except the one given to them.
4. Experts will judge the model on factors like space visualization, innovative and creative use of given material, the composition of elements, color scheme, construction skill, the finesse of the model and overall presentation, etc. 
5. The write-up should be in English. No marks will be given for write-ups in any other language. 
6. The candidate isn’t allowed to disclose their identity
7. The situation test will be evaluated on the spot. 
8. Also, the exam conducting body will not preserve the model to be referred in the future.

The dates for the challenge of the NIFT 2023 answer key haven’t been released yet.

The answer key for the NIFT 2023 exam will be released in the 2nd week of February 2023.

Like the CEED 2023 exam, UCEED 2023 will also be conducted on January 22, 2023. The exam will have two parts. 

Part A will be held as a computer-based exam, while Part B will be offline-based.

The CEED 2023 exam will be conducted as a combination of online and offline exams.

Candidates who have completed their Diploma in relevant/related fields of Design & Technology can apply for admission under NLEA.

NLEA stands for NIFT Lateral Entry Admission. Under the Lateral Entry Admission process, candidates can apply for direct admission to the third semester of UG programmes of NIFT.

The eligibility criteria for the above categories is given below.

Qualifying Age: For UG programs, the candidate should be no more than 24 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. For PG programs: No age limit

Academic qualification: The candidate must meet the required academic qualifications for these courses. If the Degree/Certificate has been obtained from a University /Board of any country other than India then an equivalence certificate must be obtained from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi.

The candidate must also possess working knowledge of the English language. The candidate must also appear for SAT/GMAT/ GRE examination before applying for admission.

If the candidate has appeared in multiple SAT / GMAT/GRE examinations prior to April 30, 2023, then the highest score will be taken into consideration. Note that GRE/ GMAT/SAT scores should not have been declared before January 1, 2021, and should be received by the Institute (NIFT) latest by April 30, 2023.

The availability of seats for these categories is as follows: 

• 5 (supernumerary) seats each per academic program at NIFT Campuses Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar & Raebareli. 
• 3 (supernumerary) seats each per academic program at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Patna, Panchkula, Shillong and Daman.

Admission to Foreign Nationals/NRI (whether residing in India or abroad), and Non-Resident Indians will be based on SAT/ GMAT/GRE scores.

Candidates in these categories needn't appear in the NIFT 2023 exam.

The GAT paper will be a LAN-based, CBT exam to be conducted at various exam centres across the country.

Completed an undergraduate diploma of a minimum of three years duration from NIFT or NID.

NIFT 2023 eligibility criteria for M.Des

These are the eligibility conditions M.Des applicants must fulfill.

Qualifying Exam: The candidate must have passed an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

OR

Completed an undergraduate diploma of a minimum three years duration from NIFT or NID. 

Age limit: No age limit.

The eligibility criteria for the Bachelor of Fashion Technology program is given below.

Qualifying exam: The candidate must have passed 10 2 exam from a recognized institute with Physics and Mathematics. 

OR

Obtained passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics and Mathematics

OR

Completed the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level with Physics and Mathematics/ International Baccalaureate (IB). 

Age Limit: The maximum age should be less than 24 years as of August 1, 2023. Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years applies for the SC/ST, PwD candidates.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology hasn’t given a specific time for the release of the admit card, so candidates must keep following this space for live updates, including the release of the admit card.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will issue the admit card for the written exams today (January 15, 2023).

The admit card will be issued to all successfully registered candidates.

The General Ability Test (GAT)`will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode. The GAT is mandatory for all programs.

However, the Creative Ability Test (CAT) which is required only for B.Des and M.Des candidates will be held in offline mode.

The admission process for NIFT 2023 will be conducted in two stages.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the 2nd round based on their performance in the written exams.

The final merit rank of NIFT 2023 will be prepared by considering the performance of the candidate in the written tests and Situation Test / PI.

The admit card will be available for download from January 15, 2023. The admit card will be released for the written exam in online mode and can be downloaded from the NIFT 2023 admission portal using one's log-in credentials.
