The scores of NIFT 2023 will be considered for admission to design courses offered by 18 participating colleges. Admission will be based on NIFT 2023 merit rank.

The National Institute of Design (NIFT) will conduct the NIFT 2023 exam on February 5, 2023. The GAT exam will be administered in a computer-based mode, whereas the CAT paper will be administered in an offline mode. The scores of the NIFT 2023 exam will be considered for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and MFM courses offered by the 18 participating NIFTs.

The 18 NIFTs offer a combined intake of 5,199 seats. Of these, 4324 seats are available for All-India candidates, while there are 405 state-domicile seats. The remaining 470 seats are reserved for NRI candidates.

Program-wise seat intake:

  • B.Des - 2748 seats
  • B.F.Tech - 542 seats
  • Masters course (M.Des, M.F.Tech, MFM) - 1034 seats.

NIFT 2023 - Admission to participating colleges

Admission to the B.Des course will be based on the performance of the candidate in CAT, GAT, and a Situation Test. Meanwhile, admission to the M.Des program will be based on CAT, CAT, and a personal interview.

In the case of the M.F.Tech and M.F.M, the merit list will be prepared considering GAT scores and performance in the personal interview.

Interestingly, B.F.Tech applicants will be considered directly based on their performance in the GAT.
