NIFT 2025 application form with a late fee is open from January 7-9. Candidates who haven’t yet applied may apply by the last date. The application correction window will be available from January 10-12.
The National Testing Agency (NIFT) is currently accepting applications with late fees. The NIFT 2025 application form with regular fees is closed. With a late fee of INR 5000, applications will be accepted till January 9, 2025. Candidates who meet the NIFT 2025 eligibility criteria and haven’t yet filled out the form, may apply before the late-fee window closes.
The NIFT 2025 written exams will be conducted on February 9, 2025.
Candidates will also be given the option to edit the NIFT 2025 application form from January 10-12. Using the correction window, the candidate can edit some of the particulars in the application form.

How to apply for NIFT 2025
The application form of NIFT 2025 has to be filled out online at nift.ac.in/admission. To fill the form, follow these steps:
- Register - The candidate needs to first register for the exam by entering their Aadhaar details. Also, enter personal details like name, email Id and mobile number.
- Fill in the form - Log in to the newly created account to fill in the rest of the details, including personal, academic, and contact details.
- Select Test City - Select a test city from the drop-down menu. The NIFT 2025 exam will be conducted in 82 cities. The allotment of exam centers will be based on the exam city opted for and the address of the candidate.
- Upload documents - The candidate has to next upload photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
Pay the application fee - Finally, pay the application fee to complete the admission process.

The General Aptitude Test (GAT) will evaluate the following skills of the candidate.

Quantitative Ability
This sub-test is designed to test the quantitative ability of the candidates. The subtest consists of questions on Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentages, Rate of Interest, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, and Distance.
Communication Ability and English Comprehension
This sub-test is aimed at testing the language ability of the candidates in day-to-day communication in English. It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings, comprehending a situation from a given passage, etc.
Analytical Ability and Logical Ability
This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s capacity for inference and logic from the given information and to evaluate the candidate’s ability to identify the given problem and apply reasoning in solving the core issues of the problem. Concepts and practices of creative and lateral thinking are likely to be useful.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs
This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s general knowledge and current affairs. Candidates must keep themselves updated with the latest happenings.
Case Study
This sub-test is based on a situation in an industry environment. It helps to evaluate the candidate’s managerial ability.

Shortlisting for NIFT 2025 Situation Test
B.Des candidates have to appear in a Situation Test if shortlisted. The shortlisting will be done by considering GAT and CAT scores.
PG candidates, meanwhile, have to take a personal interview.

Is maths required for NIFT?
It is not mandatory for candidates to have studies Maths in Class 12 to appear in NIFT 2025.
However, the GAT question paper can include Math-based questions. So, math background can be helpful to some extent.. The GAT paper will have questions from topics like logical and analytical reasoning, general awareness, verbal reasoning, and English.

The candidate mustn’t carry electronic instruments, handbag, purse, any kind of paper / textual material (printed or written material), eatables (loose or packed), electronic gadgets (mobile phone, earphone, microphone, pager, calculator, camera, tape recorder, electronic watches, etc), Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, with facilities of calculator, or any metallic item in the examination hall/room.

There is no way to tell whether the NTA will extend the NIFT application form 2025 or not. So, interested candidates are urged to fill out the application form without any delay.

NIFT 2025 (M.Des) Eligibility Criteria
If you are seeking admission to the M.Des program, make sure you meet the following conditions:

Academic Qualification
The candidate must have completed an Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized institute.

Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

NIFT 2025 eligibility criteria for B.Des
Candidates applying for the B.Des program must meet the following conditions:

The candidate must be less than 24 years as of August 1 of the admission year.
SC, ST, and PwD candidates are eligible for 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit.
Academic Eligibility
Passed 10+2 exam from a recognized institute.
OR
Passed Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
OR
Obtained a 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
OR
Passed any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system
OR
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate.

When will the NIFT 2025 exam be conducted?
The NTA will conduct the NIFT 2025 written exams on February 9, 2025. The exam will be held in a center-based mode in 82 cities across India.
The candidate can select the exam city when filling out the form.

Candidates can now apply with a late fee until January 9.

The late fee is INR 5000.
