NIFT asks candidates to fill in preferences for academic programs by May 8

Candidates can choose maximum number of preferences while filling campus and course preferences at the time of registration for seat allocation latest by May 8, 2023, up to 12 pm (midnight).  

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is conducting online counselling registration for NIFT 2023 from April 28 to May 8 (12 pm, midnight). The institute has issued a circular regarding less preferences filled in by some candidates during NIFT 2023 counselling registration. 

The notice read, “It is observed that some candidates have filled in very few preferences. Candidates who have filled less preferences are advised to update their courses/campus preferences to add maximum preferences latest by May 8, 2023, up to 12 pm (midnight). The preferences filled in will carry through to all rounds of seat allocation. No request for edit/revision of the course/campus preferences will be entertained after May 8, 2023.” 

To register for NIFT 2023 counseling, eligible candidates need to fill in the registration form and enter their academic preferences. In the context of seat allocation, an “academic program” refers to the combination of an academic program/ course and campus. 

Candidates will be shortlisted for NIFT 2023 counselling on the basis of their NIFT 2023 merit rank. The allotment of seats will be made considering factors such as the candidate's category, merit rank, seat intake, and options selected during choice filling. The seat acceptance fee for NIFT 2023 is INR 1,83, 200.
