The merit list for B.F.Tech program will be prepared solely on the basis of GAT scores. So, candidates admission to the program aren't required to attempt any other exams, including the Situation Test.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des courses have to first qualify the written exams - GAT and CAT - to be shortlisted for the next stage, which includes the Situation Test.

The final result of NIFT 2024 will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test.

Yes, the M.F Tech GAT question paper will also have some questions from the engineering field. The number of questions may vary between sections and exam editions. 

Also, the difficulty level of questions may vary for the courses. 

The GAT syllabus (all programs) is as follows:

1. Quantitative Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the quantitative ability of the candidates. The sub-test consists of questions on Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentages, Rate of Interest, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, and Distance. 
2. Communication Ability and English Comprehension: This subtest is aimed at testing the language ability of the candidates in day-to-day communication. It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings, comprehending a situation from a given passage, etc.
3. \Analytical Ability and Logical Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s capacity for inference and logic from the given information and to evaluate the candidate’s ability to identify the given problem and apply reasoning in solving the core issues of the problem. Concepts and practice of creative and lateral thinking are likely to be useful. 
4. General Knowledge and Current Affairs: This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s general knowledge and current affairs.

No new update about the admit card or city intimation slip has been released on the NIFT admission portal.

The NTA has not mentioned any specific day for the release of the NIFT city intimation slip 2024.

However, it is given in the admission brochure that the NIFT 2024 admit card will be released in the 3rd week of January 2024. Now, given the intimation slip will be out before the admit card, it is logical that the intimation slip should also be released in the 3rd week of January 2024.

The NIFT 2024 exam will be conducted on February 5, 2024. The exam will commence at 9 am.

The candidate needs to report for the exam at 8 am. 

The admit card for NIFT 2024 will be released once the intimation slip is released.

NIFT officials have released the category-wise eligibility criteria for admission to the various design courses offered by the 18 participating colleges.

Any candidate who fails to meet the criteria for their chosen program, he or she will not be considered for admission.

The gates at the NIFT 2024 exam centre will close 30 minutes before the exam commences. So, it is recommended that the candidate reaches the exam centre on time.

The gate opening time will be notified in the NIFT 2024 admit card. The candidate needs to report at the exam center as per the reporting time mentioned in the admit card.

Yes, the candidate will have to carry their own stationery.

For the GAT paper, you will need a pencil, ball point pen, sharpener, and eraser. Meanwhile, for the CAT paper, you will also need dry colors and lead pencils.

2. An original and valid photo ID proof.

There is negative marking for the GAT paper. For every incorrect attempt, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

The maximum age for admission to the B.Des and B.F.Tech courses are less than 24 years as of August 1 of the year of admission. The upper age limit may be relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST, and PWD categories.

No, the city intimation slip is not required for appearing in the NIFT 2024 exam.

You will only need the NIFT 2024 admit card and a valid photo ID proof.

No, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is not conducting the NIFT 2024 entrance exam.

Instead, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is given the responsibility to conduct the NIFT 2024 exam.

Note that this is the first instance that a city intimation slip will be released for the NIFT 2024 exam. Earlier, when the exam was conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), no intimation slips were released.
