The seat allotment for the second round was scheduled for June 20. Meanwhile, allotment link is malfunctioning as candidates can’t see allotment letter nor the payment link.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has now released a seat allotment link for Round II. However, the institute is yet to declare the seat allotment for PwD category, scheduled for June 8, and the Round I seat allotment for non-PwD category on June 13. So, it is surprising that the institute has now released seat allotment for Round II by passing seat allotment for Round I.
Also, the seat allotment for Round II (non-PwD) category was originally scheduled to be out on June 20. So, if the seat allotment for Round II stays, it would mean the seat allotment is preponed by almost a week.
NIFT 2022 seat allotment for Round II - Technical Issues
Candidates who have logged in to the seat allotment portal also claim that they are facing a number of issues:
- Some students are not able to view the seat allotment link altogether
- In a majority of cases, on logging in, the candidate is re-directed to a review page
- In other cases, the payment option is not visible
- In yet other cases, there is no seat allotment letter.
When this correspondent tried to get in touch with the NIFT helpdesk, nobody picked up the phone even after multiple attempts. It is likely that students are also confused and maybe even panicking with the inconsistency in the NIFT 2022 seat allotment process.
Note that this year, the NIFT 2022 seat allotment is done separately for PwD and non-PwD categories.
There will be one single allotment for PwD category, while the non-PwD category will have five rounds of allotment.
