NIFT Counseling 2022 - Seat allotment process concludes; reporting at allotted institutes

The Spot Round (last round) of seat allotment was conducted on July 30. The online counseling process included six regular rounds, followed by the Spot Round.is

The National Institute of Technology (NIFT) has concluded the seat allotment process for NIFT 2022. The counseling cum seat allotment for NIFT 2022 was conducted in online mode. Candidates who have been allotted seats during the six regular rounds, plus the Spot Round, are notified to get in touch with the allotted institutes to get updates on joining dates and orientation formalities.

The NIFT 2022 admission process included 17 participating institutes. The participating institutes offer both undergraduate and postgraduate design courses.

These participating institutes offer a combined seat intake of 5, 023 seats, including 4, 188 All India Seats, and 377 state-domicile seats. In addition, there are 458 seats for foreign nationals.

NIFT 2022 Counseling and Seat Allotment

The counseling process for NIFT 2022 was open for candidates who have qualified in the written tests, the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT).

The counseling was conducted online as a joint seat allotment process. The allotment of seats is done based on the NIFT 2022 merit rank of the candidate and academic and college option selected at the time of counseling.

As part of the counseling process, eligible candidates had to get registered and participate in choice filling. Note that fresh registrations were conducted for the Spot Round.
