The National Institute of Fashion technology (NIFT) has declared the results of written test conducted for candidates belonging to artisans category. The exam was held on June 26, 2021. Check complete details below.
A total of 13 artisan/children of artisan candidates belonging to different categories have cleared the written test. Total 22 such candidates were selected to appear for the NIFT Entrance Exam held on June 26.
Under the artisans/children of artisans category, NIFT provides admission to those candidates who have any one of their parent working at the Development Commissioner (Handlooms) or the Development Commissioner (Handicraft) of the Ministry of Textiles or the state government. These students are considered eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) courses offered at 17 NIFT campuses. Apart from this, candidates should have cleared Class 12 from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/ State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. The candidate needs to be maximum of 24 years of age as on August 1, 2021, to be eligible for NIFT admissions under this category. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of five ears for candidates of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories.
Meanwhile, NIFT 2021 registration for second round of counselling commenced on August 3. All candidates who have not yet been allotted a seat can register themselves on the official website of the institute latest by August 6. Thereafter, candidates can make correction in the uploaded documents and pay fee from August 3-9. The NIFT counselling for round 1 admissions ended on July 29.
