UCEED & CEED 2024 Exam (OVER) Live Updates: Paper Analysis (OUT), Student Reaction, Cut-off

Criterion 1 – Age limit: The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 1999, if belonging to the OPEN, EWS, OBC-NCL categories, and on or after October 1, 1994, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD categories.
Criterion 2 – UCEED qualification: The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank, in UCEED 2024.
Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination: The candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2023 or 2024. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2022 or earlier are NOT eligible.

IIT Bombay will not conduct any Situation Test for B.Des courses, nor will it conduct any personal interviews. Instead, the UCEED and CEED 2024 merit lists will be prepared purely on basis of respective entrance exam scores only. 

Yes, if the candidate has any objections against the draft key, then challenges have to be submitted from January 23-25, 2024 (5 pm). Challenges have to be submitted through the candidate portal only.

IIT Bombay will release the draft answer key on January 23, 2024. Note that the draft key will be released only for Part A. No keys will be released for Part B.

If the total marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will followed:
i. A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part B.
ii. If the criterion given in (i) does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 2 of Part A.
iii. If the criteria (i) and (ii) do not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 1 of Part-A.
iv. If there is a tie even after this, the candidates will be assigned the same rank.

The candidate's responses for Part-A of UCEED 2024 can be downloaded ONLY until the declaration of the UCEED results and not thereafter.

Note that you must use the Master Question Paper uploaded on the official UCEED website as a reference to upload your comments/queries. This is because the order of questions may be difficult for each candidate.

The draft answer key will contain the answers to questions asked in Part A. First, calculate the number of correct attempts, and then using the marking scheme, calculate probable scores.

The NIFT 2024 exam will be conducted on February 5, 2024. The written exams comprise the CAT and the GAT.

The city intimation slip will contain the name of the exam city allocated to the candidate. It will also contain other details like NIFT 2024 exam date, application number, parent's name, etc.

The admit card for NIFT 2024 will be released later.

The seat allotment for UCEED 2024 will have three rounds. The seat allotment for Round I will be announced on April 10, 2024.

The cut-off marks for admission to the participating colleges will be released at the time of counseling and seat allotment. Note that the cut-offs will be released separately for each round of allotment.

No, the participating institutes will not accept scores of other entrance exams like NID DAT, NIFT, or SEED for admission processes.

The merit list for admission will be prepared solely based on UCEED scores.

The result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Seat Allocation possess conducted by IIT Bombay. Instead, they will conduct their own counseling based on UCEED merit ranks.

Also, the result-sharing institutes will not scores of other entrance exams.

The counseling registration for UCEED 2024  will be conducted from March 14-31, 2024. Candidates who have been assigned a merit rank in UCEED 2024 can participate in the counseling process.

IIT will conduct a Joint Seat Allocation for the UCEED 2024 participating colleges. Candidates who qualify in the UCEED 2024 exam are eligible to participate in the seat allocation process.

Yes, the scorecard for the CEED 2024 will also be released on March 11, 2024. The last date to download the scorecard is June 12, 2024.

The candidate is allowed to attempt the t UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years.

The results for the CEED 2024 exam will be announced on March 8, 2024.

The scorecard is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.

The scorecard for the UCEED 2024 exam will be released on March 11, 2024. The scorecard will be released for all candidates who have appeared in the UCEED 2024 exam.

The IIT Bombay will release a draft answer key for CEED 2024 on January 23, 2024. The answer key will be released only for Part A and no answer keys will be released for Part B. In case candidates have any objections against the draft key, they can submit their responses from January 23-25, 2024 (5 pm). The final answer key for Part A of CEED 2024 will be released on January 31, 2024.

Apart from UCEED/CEED there are various other design-centric exams that candidates apply for. Some of the exams are the NIFT Entrance Exam, NID Entrance Exam, and IIAD Entrance exam.

Students who have a self-belief that they have done well in the exam are advised to start making plans for Studio Tests and portfolios to be shown during the interview round. For example, a student of architecture might consider putting some of their works in their portfolio: Cartoons, storyboards, etc. This will help them gain an upper hand during the interview process.

After the CEED exam is over candidates must prepare for the next process, i.e., counseling, admission, and interview rounds. 

The Part A cut-off for both the UCEED and CEED 2024 exams will be announced on February 8, 2024. The cut-off would include the minimum marks a candidate needs to secure in their category to be considered for admission. Also, the Part B answer booklet will only be evaluated if the candidate meet the Part A cut-off.

The candidate has to mandatorily qualify Part A, or else the Part B answer booklet of the candidate will not be evaluated. Further, if the candidate doesn't qualify Part A, he or she will not be assigned a merit rank.

IIT Bombay will declare the results of the UCEED 2024 exam on March 8, 2024. The result will be declared online at uceed.iitb.ac.in.

To check their results, the candidate will have to log in to the result portal using their candidate credentials.

Nisha Kothari said that the CEED 2024 cut-off will be 30 approx.

As per Nisha Kothari who was appearing in the CEED exam for the first time, the difficulty level was of moderate level. She said that the drawing section was lengthy and it was time-consuming.

Roshan who appeared for CEED said that the question paper was lengthy and a few questions had printing errors so he had to wait for it to get rectified. The paper was difficult and some questions were very time-consuming. The difficulty level of the one question which had human-animal interaction using the blocks mentioned in the question paper was a bit on the difficult side.

As per the reviews received by the LIVE exam coverage by Shiksha.com, Ayushi and Saumya who appeared for CEED exam shared that the question paper was engaging and was set in such a manner that students could get involved in every question and get a good boost to move on to the next one. They also shared that the difficulty level was moderate and part B was tough.

Abhishek was another UCEED 2024 candidate who found the question paper to be very easy. Among the various sections, he felt that numerical was a bit on the difficult side.

He, however, felt that the paper was a bit lengthy.

The expected cut-off for the CEED 2024 exam is expected to remain the as per some test takers.

A candidate shares that other students around her were making very quick drawings and answering questions. Another reason why cut-off may be high this time around.

Rithi Khera says the exam was pretty easy and the cut-off would be high. However, she did not share any cut-off score.

The NAT (Numerical Answer Type) section was a bit lengthy and contained several area-based questions.

IIT Bombay will release answer keys only for Part A of the UCEED 2024 exam. NO answer keys will be released for Part B, which is a subjective-based exam. Paper B, as per exam officials, has no model solutions.  

The final answer key of UCEED 2024 and CEED 2024 will be released on January 31, 2024.

The final key will be released after considering objections filed by the candidate. Note that the keys given in the final answer key will be correct answers to all the questions asked in the Part A question paper.

Yes, IIT Bombay will also release the candidate response sheet for Part A on January 23, 2024. It will contain the candidate's answers to questions asked in the exam.

No, there will be no provision to challenge the final answer key.

In fact, the final key will be prepared by considering the feedback given by the candidate. The candidate can use the final key to calculate their probable scores.

The CEED and UCEED 2024 exams are held from 9 am - 12 noon.

The candidate in not allowed to leave the exam hall for the entire duration of 3 hours. This means there will be no toilet breaks. Any candidate found leaving their seats and loitering around could be disqualified.

The entry gates to the UCEED and CEED 2024 exam centers will be closing in a few moments from now. Candidates who haven't yet reached the exam center face the risk of not being allowed entry inside the exam venue.

Note that exam starts at 9 am. 

The UCEED and CEED 2024 exams will start sharp at 9 am. 

Gates at the exam center will also close soon. Candidates who have reached the exam centre need to complete their pre-exam formalities quickly and get to their seats.

If the candidate indulges in any kind of unfair or illegal activities inside the exam hall, including cheating or impersonation, then he or she will be disqualified. Further, criminal charges may also be levied against such candidates. 

After entering the examination hall:

1. Take your assigned seat
2. Don't leave the seat once the exam commences
3. Don't carry any barred items with you, including textual material, electronic gadgets, etc.
4. Follow the instructions given by the invigilator
5. Read the instructions carefully, if any, before attempting the exam
6. Attempt the easy questions first, and then move on to the difficult ones.'
7. Stay calm and composed
8. Don't cheat and disturb other candidates. 

Part-A (Total marks: 200; Maximum time: 2 hours)

• This part will be administered through a computer-based test.
• This part will consist of three sections.

Section 1:NAT (Numerical Answer Type): 14 questions (4 marks each; no negative marks).
For these questions, the answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. No choices will be shown for these questions.

Section 2: MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 15 questions.
Each MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice(s) out of the four given. The following is the marking scheme:

Full Marks: + 4

 If only (all) the correct option(s) is(are) chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.

Partial Marks: + 3

 If all the four options are correct but ONLY three options are chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.

Partial Marks: + 2

 If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.

Partial Marks: + 1

 If two or more options are correct but ONLY one option is chosen and it is a correct option and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.

Zero Marks: 0

 If none of the options is chosen (i.e., the question is unanswered).

Negative Marks: -1

 In all other cases.

Section 3: MCQ (Multiple Choice Question): 28 questions (3 marks each for the correct answer; 0.71 negative marks for incorrect answers). Each MCQ will have four choices, out of which only one is the correct answer..

The seating arrangement should ideally be given on the notice board at the UCEED 2024 exam centre. Check the notifications.

If you are not able to find the seating arrangement, ask the security or authorities at the center. They should guide you.

IIT Bombay hasn't prescribed any dress code for the CEED and UCEED 2024 exams. However, you must dress moderately and in something comfortable. 

We have now reached the reporting time.

Candidates must try to stretch the much beyond the reporting time because after arriving at the exam center, there are registration, frisking, and other formalities to be competed.

The more late you get, the more anxiety it will build.

This a common thing that happens to everyone as our aadhar card was generally made years ago and will have our old photo only while the admit card consists of our latest photograph which we submitted during the application form filling process. However, there shouldn't be a vast difference between the aadhar card photo and the admit card photo as this can raise speculations. Candidates can showcase any other photo identity proof in support of their claim. It all depends on the invigilators and the IIT representatives on how they deal with this situation.

IIT Bombay will today conduct the CEED and UCEED 2024 exams at various exam centres across the country from 9 am - 12 noon.

B.Des candidates need to take the UCEED exam, while M.Des candidates need to appear in CEED 2024.

No, candidates must have their photo identity in physical format only, no digital presence of the ID through the DigiLocker app will be entertained by the exam conducting authorities at the exam centre.

No, a PDF copy of the UCEED/CEED 2024 admit cars is not applicable. Candidates must carry their physical admit card only. If they fail to do so, they will not be permitted to appear for the exam and will have to return empty-handed from the exam center.

Candidates can know all this information from their admit card. By now candidates will have downloaded their UCEED 2024 admit card which will consist of all their information related to the exam centre, general guidelines as well as the time.

The exam will be conducted on January 21, 2024 (Sunday) across various exam centres in India. The exam timing of the UCEED 2024 is 9 am to 12 noon. The reporting time is 7 am.

Currently, there are no COVID-19-related instructions issued by the exam conducting authority that candidates need to follow. The UCEED/CEED 2024 exam will be conducted as per its schedule time TODAY, January 21, 2024 (Sunday).

Part A of the UCEED 2024 exam is a computer-based test and in case candidates face any issue with their computer test they can approach the invigilator for assistance. Due to time loss in this process, candidates will get the complete allotted time to attempt their paper even in the event of any technical problem, and the time lost will be adjusted automatically in the server. 

Only pencils are allowed inside the exam hall. Candidates must bring their pencils in a transparent pouch. Items like colored pencils, sketch pens, poster colors, etc are NOT permitted inside the examination hall. 

Items like abacus, slide rule, log books, study material of any type, geometry box, etc cannot be carried inside the exam hall.

Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic devices like mobile phones, smart phones, watches of any type, calculators, tablets, flash drives etc. If candidates are found in possession of these items then strict action will be taken against them.

No extra time will be allowed to complete the examination instead of the time taken to complete these formalities. If candidates with doubtful identities are permitted to appear, their candidature shall be subject to the decision of UCI Committee, which shall be final and binding.

The identity of the candidates will be verified by exam invigilators as well as IIT representatives as the exam is conducted by IIT Bombay. If they find any doubt, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the examination. However, at their discretion, the authorities may permit the candidate to appear for the examination after completing certain formalities. 

Candidates must carry a printout of their UCEED admit card 2024 along with a Valid, Original Photo Identity Proof that is an aadhar card/voter ID, driver's license or PAN card, etc. This is required to record the biometric information (thumb impression and photograph) before appearing for the examination.

The reporting time of the UCEED 2024 exam as allotted in the admit card is at 7:00 am on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Due to the cold wave in the Northern part of India, especially in Delhi/NCR candidates are advised to reach the exam center at least 30-40 minutes before the reporting time.

No, as of now there is no such intimation by the exam conducting authorities about the exam postponement. Candidates are advised to reach the exam center at the reporting time mentioned in their UCEED 2024 admit card.

The city intimation slip will be released to notify candidates about the city they have been allocated. The candidate cannot change the allotted city.

The admit card will be released after the intimation slip has been released.

The Part A of UCEED and CEED will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode.

If you face any technical issues during the exam, you need to immediately inform the invigilator. The invigilator in this case will try to get you immediate help, including finding a new computer terminal.

Also, the time lost due to a technical anomaly will get automatically adjusted in the server. This means you will be allocated additional time to compensate for the time lost.

The UCEED and CEED exams will be conducted from 9 am - 12 noon. You are not allowed to leave your seat and examination hall until the exam is over.

If you fail to qualify Part A of the UCEED 2024 exam, then your Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, you will be disqualified from the admission process. 

The answer keys will not be released for Part B of the UCEED 2024 exam. It is because Part B is a subjective paper, and IIT Bombay quotes, it therefore doesn't have any model solutions.

Yes, the candidate is allowed to bring a writing board with them. The size of the writing board should be of A4 size. 

On exam day, you need to bring your own pencils in a transparent packet.

However, note that sketch pens, color pencils, poster colors and other colouring materials are not allowed inside the exam hall.

The UCEED official website has the details pertaining to the UCEED exam pattern, syllabus, important dates, exam-day guidelines, etc. It also has resources like sample papers and previous years’ UCEED question papers that you can practice.

Please note that the photo ID proof must be in the original. Digital or photocopies of the ID proof will not be accepted

Also, the ID needs to be a valid one; expired IDs will not be accepted.

No, the candidate must carry with them a printout of the UCEED 2024 admit card. Photocopies will not be accepted.

The application forms for both UCEED and CEED 2024 are now closed. The last date to apply for the exams was November 20, 2024.

The UCEED 2024 exam will be conducted in 27 cities across India. The candidate had to select their choice of exam centres at the time of filling out the UCEED 2024 application form.

Currently, the participating colleges of UCEED 2024 have a combined intake of 205 seats. The seat allotment to the program will be based on the merit rank of the candidate in the UCEED 2024 exam.

The UCEED exam is attempted by more than 15,000 applicants every year. If you take into account the number of seats available for the B.Des program, it makes UCEED one of the most competitive entrance exams in the country.

The candidate must confirm their exam centres by consulting the admit cards for the respective exams. Note that some UCEED 2024 exam centres may not conduct the CEED exam. This is because CEED has fewer number of candidates as compared to UCEED.

As per the official notification, the candidate needs to report for the UCEED and CEED exams at 7 am. Note that the identity of the candidate will be verified at the exam center.

Those with doubtful identities may not be allowed to take the test.

The CEED entrance exam 2024 will be conducted on January 21, 2024 (9 am - 12 noon).

The scores of the exam will be considered for admission to the B.Des and M.Des courses offered by participating colleges.
