The UCEED and the CEED exam 2024 were conducted by the IIT Bombay TODAY (9 am - 12 noon).
Candidates needed a printed copy of their admit cards and a valid, original photo ID for the identity verification process at the center. Failing to do so, they were not permitted to take the exam.
The UCEED question paper consisted of two compulsory parts - Part A and Part B. The total mark for UCEED 2024 is 300. There is no negative marking for NAT questions, while there is a deduction of 1 and 0.71 for MSQ and MCQ respectively.
It's important to note that the answer booklets for UCEED 2024 Part B will only be evaluated if the candidate successfully qualifies in Part A.

UCEED & CEED 2024 - Release of Answer Keys and Result
For candidates awaiting the release of the CEED and UCEED 2024 answer key, the draft version will be made available on January 23, 2024, followed by the final key on January 31, 2024.
Note that answer keys will released only for Part A. No keys will be released for Part B.
The results of UCEED 2024 are scheduled to be declared on March 8, 2024. The cut-off marks for Part A will be released on February 8, 2024.
CEED 2024 results will be announced on March 6, 2024.

Both the UCEED and CEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay.
The UCEED 2024 exam is for admission to the B.Des program, while CEED 2024 exam is conducted for M.Des admission.

UCEED 2024 Eligibility Criteria to apply for B.Des
Criterion 1 – Age limit: The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 1999, if belonging to the OPEN, EWS, OBC-NCL categories, and on or after October 1, 1994, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD categories.
Criterion 2 – UCEED qualification: The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank, in UCEED 2024.
Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination: The candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2023 or 2024. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2022 or earlier are NOT eligible. - 11:00 AM IST• 22 Jan 2024
Do I need to appear for any Situation Test next?
IIT Bombay will not conduct any Situation Test for B.Des courses, nor will it conduct any personal interviews. Instead, the UCEED and CEED 2024 merit lists will be prepared purely on basis of respective entrance exam scores only.

Will there be an option to challenge the UCEED 2024 answer key?
Yes, if the candidate has any objections against the draft key, then challenges have to be submitted from January 23-25, 2024 (5 pm). Challenges have to be submitted through the candidate portal only.

If the total marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will followed:
i. A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part B.
ii. If the criterion given in (i) does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 2 of Part A.
iii. If the criteria (i) and (ii) do not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 1 of Part-A.

Students who have a self-belief that they have done well in the exam are advised to start making plans for Studio Tests and portfolios to be shown during the interview round. Roshan who appeared for CEED said that the question paper was lengthy and a few questions had printing errors so he had to wait for it to get rectified. The paper was difficult and some questions were very time-consuming. The difficulty level of the one question which had human-animal interaction using the blocks mentioned in the question paper was a bit on the difficult side.

If the candidate indulges in any kind of unfair or illegal activities inside the exam hall, including cheating or impersonation, then he or she will be disqualified. Further, criminal charges may also be levied against such candidates.

After entering the examination hall:
- Take your assigned seat
- Don't leave the seat once the exam commences

is there negative marking in UCEED 2024?
Part-A (Total marks: 200; Maximum time: 2 hours)
- This part will be administered through a computer-based test.
- This part will consist of three sections.
Section 1:NAT (Numerical Answer Type): 14 questions (4 marks each; no negative marks).
For these questions, the answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. No choices will be shown for these questions.
Section 2: MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 15 questions.
Each MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice(s) out of the four given. The following is the marking scheme:Full Marks: + 4
- If only (all) the correct option(s) is(are) chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Partial Marks: + 3- If all the four options are correct but ONLY three options are chosen and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Partial Marks: + 2- If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Partial Marks: + 1- If two or more options are correct but ONLY one option is chosen and it is a correct option and NONE of the incorrect options is chosen.
Zero Marks: 0- If none of the options is chosen (i.e., the question is unanswered).
Negative Marks: -1- In all other cases.
Section 3: MCQ (Multiple Choice Question): 28 questions (3 marks each for the correct answer; 0.71 negative marks for incorrect answers). Each MCQ will have four choices, out of which only one is the correct answer..

How to find your seat at UCEED exam centre?
The seating arrangement should ideally be given on the notice board at the UCEED 2024 exam centre. Check the notifications.

There is difference of photo in my aadhar card and the admit card, is it ok?
This a common thing that happens to everyone as our aadhar card was generally made years ago and will have our old photo only while the admit card consists of our latest photograph which we submitted during the application form filling process. However, there shouldn't be a vast difference between the aadhar card photo and the admit card photo as this can raise speculations. Candidates can showcase any other photo identity proof in support of their claim. It all depends on the invigilators and the IIT representatives on how they deal with this situation.

No, candidates must have their photo identity in physical format only, no digital presence of the ID through the DigiLocker app will be entertained by the exam conducting authorities at the exam centre.

Time adjustment in case of computer error
Part A of the UCEED 2024 exam is a computer-based test and in case candidates face any issue with their computer test they can approach the invigilator for assistance. Only pencils are allowed inside the exam hall. Candidates must bring their pencils in a transparent pouch. Items like colored pencils, sketch pens, poster colors, etc are NOT permitted inside the examination hall.

Candidates must carry a printout of their UCEED admit card 2024 along with a Valid, Original Photo Identity Proof that is an aadhar card/voter ID, driver's license or PAN card, etc. This is required to record the biometric information (thumb impression and photograph) before appearing for the examination.

The reporting time of the UCEED 2024 exam as allotted in the admit card is at 7:00 am on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Due to the cold wave in the Northern part of India, especially in Delhi/NCR candidates are advised to reach the exam center at least 30-40 minutes before the reporting time.

What should I do if I face technical issues during the UCEED and CEED exams
The Part A of UCEED and CEED will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode.
If you face any technical issues during the exam, you need to immediately inform the invigilator. The invigilator in this case will try to get you immediate help, including finding a new computer terminal.
Also, the time lost due to a technical anomaly will get automatically adjusted in the server. This means you will be allocated additional time to compensate for the time lost.
