DU OBE 2021: Delhi University has begun its online open-book examinations in which nearly 46,000 students appeared. As per the reports, the first day of examination went smoothly with few technical glitches, the official said.
As per the officials, there was some issue with the paper code of a subject in English, however, the issue was rectified and the students were given the extra time to appear in the exam. Over 100 answer sheets were submitted through email and the rest were submitted in the designated DU OBE portal, they added.
"Around 46,000 students appeared for the exam and the email submission of answer sheets was done by nearly 100 of them which is a very small number. The maximum number of email submissions were from Rajdhani College at 63 while the minimum email submissions were from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College at one," said D S Rawat, Dean (Examinations), DU.
Delhi University had earlier released the guidelines for the students appearing for the DU OBE exam. As per the guidelines, students were supposed to submit the answer sheets on the OBE portal only. Students were also advised not to use any unfair means while writing the exam as the varsity has placed a special system to detect copying/use of unfair means in the examination.
In June this year, over 350 students were found using unfair means during the OBE exams because of which their paper or whole semester was cancelled, the guidelines stated.
"If submission on the portal gets delayed beyond one hour, students can use an additional one hour to upload the scripts on the OBE portal (that is the 5th hour), but in that case, students have to keep the documentary evidence (4-5 snapshots of the delay in uploading). In another word, students will have (3 hrs for writing answers + 1 hr for downloading question paper and uploading scripts + 1 hr for delayed submission for which documentary evidence needs to be submitted)," the guidelines had stated.
