1M1B Green Skills Academy Centre Inaugurated by N. Chandrababu Naidu to Foster Sustainable Development

Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the 1M1B Green Skills Academy's Career Readiness Centre which aims to equip youth and professionals with green skills and career training, fostering sustainable employment.

N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated the state’s and India’s first 1M1B Green Skills Academy Career Readiness Centre in Kuppam. In a significant collaboration, the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA) joined forces with the United Nations-accredited 1M1B Foundation (One Million for One Billion) to establish this centre. Aligned with CM Naidu’s vision for a technologically advanced and sustainable Andhra Pradesh, the centre will provide youth and young professionals with vital green skills and career training, fostering sustainable employment in the growing green economy of both Andhra Pradesh and India.

The 1M1B Green Skills Academy was announced at the United Nations headquarters in December 2023, to develop India's green workforce and nurture climate talent. Designed for college students and adult learners over 18, the academy aims to equip the future workforce with the skills, mindset, and tools needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving green economy. It offers a unique blend of theoretical knowledge, hands-on projects, workplace experiences, internships, and job readiness mentoring, creating a dynamic learning environment for students.

The centre will act as a transformative platform, equipping youth and young professionals (18 and above) with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to excel in green job roles and entrepreneurial ventures. Through this collaboration, 1M1B aims to provide hands-on training in areas such as e-waste management, renewable energy, electric mobility, and sustainable agriculture. The program will also offer digital skills training, including AI, as well as professional development in communication, leadership, and critical thinking, preparing participants for job placements and internships.

The inauguration event witnessed the presence of the CM of Andhra Pradesh Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Vikas Marmat, I.A.S., Project Director, Kuppam Area Development Authority, Manav Subodh, Founder & Chief Mentor, 1M1B, Srikanth Kancharla, MLC, Kuppam and representatives from 1M1B.

This centre will create opportunities for youth and young adults in Andhra Pradesh, particularly around Kuppam, by promoting inclusion and actively encouraging participation from rural, tribal, and social welfare communities. It aims to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment, empowering individuals from all backgrounds to acquire relevant skills and contribute to a sustainable future for their communities.
