AICTE and National Communications Academy Team Up to Enhance Learning in Telecom and ICT Sectors

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Communications Academy (NCA) have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance technical education in Telecom and Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) across India. The agreement was signed by AICTE Member Secretary Prof. Rajive Kumar and NCA Director General Shri Deb Kumar Chakrabarti, with AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam present at the signing ceremony held at the AICTE Headquarters in New Delhi.

Areas of Collaboration

The collaboration seeks to modernise the model curriculum for Diploma and Undergraduate courses and to introduce minor degree courses in emerging fields such as 5G/6G, Quantum Communications, Telecom & Cyber Security. The goal is to align educational offerings with the latest advancements in the telecom industry. The areas of collaboration are:

  • Curriculum Development
  • Integration of Emerging Technologies
  • Educational Materials Development
  • Faculty Training
  • Knowledge Sharing and Research Promotion
  • Internship Opportunities and Infrastructure Access

Addressing the gathering, AICTE Chairman said, “We are excited about this strategic partnership with the National Communications Academy, which aims to revolutionize technical education in the telecom and ICT fields. By introducing minor degree courses in emerging technologies like 5G/6G, Quantum Communications, and Cyber Security, we intend to ensure a greater reach and accessibility of these cutting-edge subjects to a wider student base. Our goal is a result-oriented collaboration that not only updates our curriculum but also prepares our students to meet the current and future demands of the industry."
