AICTE asks institutes to stop PG scholarship of students who left course midway
To ensure development of technical education, the AICTE awards PG scholarship of INR 12,400 per month to full-time GATE/GPAT/CEED qualified students admitted to AICTE-approved institutions.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to stop the postgraduate (PG) scholarship of students who left the courses mid-way. The technical education regulator has asked the colleges and universities to provide details of such students.
In a circular, the technical education regulator said, “It has been noticed that some of the institutions are not providing timely information of those students who have left out the course midway under the PG scholarship programme of AICTE.” The circular read, “Due to non-availability of information in time, the fellowship is releasing uninterrupted, which is not authorised. It is, therefore, requested to furnish in time the exact status of those scholars also marked as “LEFT THE COURSE” in the PG portal,” AICTE added.
The AICTE clarified that in case institutions faced any problem in marking the same in the PG portal, the they were requested to mail the details on the letterhead of the institute to pgscholarship@aicte.india.org.
To ensure development of technical education in India, the AICTE awards PG scholarship of INR 12,400 per month to full-time GATE/GPAT/CEED qualified students admitted to AICTE-approved PG programme in AICTE approved institutions. The total duration of the scholarship is 24 months or for the duration of the course i.e. from the date of commencement of classes till the date of completion of the classes whichever is earlier.
