AICTE Invites Entries For CAETS Communication Prize 2024; Check Details Here

AICTE has invited entries for the CAETS Communication Prize 2024 through its member academies. Those interested in sharing their engineering innovative stories have to send a short video of not more than five minutes. Check details here 

CAETS Communication Prize 2024: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is inviting entries from its member academies for CAETS Communication Prize 2024. Interested candidates have to share a short video for not more than five minutes. Also, re-submissions from previous years will be accepted. 

The aim of the videos is to inspire students to follow careers in engineering and the technological sciences and to educate the general public on the impact that engineering and the technological sciences have in their lives and future. 

Submission of Videos 

Each member Academy may submit a maximum of one video, with exceptions allowed for entries from different genders. The academies must provide a communications plan detailing their promotional strategy for the prize and the winning entry, both domestically and internationally.

• Videos are to be submitted in MP4 format
• Videos must be submitted by a CAETS member Academy
• Videos must be five minutes in length or less. Entries over five minutes will not be considered
• Videos should have description of the problem being solved and its relevance to the real world, including how it is applied
•  A clear and simple explanation of the technology, how it works and why it is novel
• Credits: names and affiliations of the researchers and developers, logo of their organisation, logo of the Academy submitting the video (for international submission) 
• CAETS encourages videos to be produced in English, however videos in languages other than English will be accepted providing they have English subtitles

Where to submit videos? 

These entries along with declaration form has to be submitted before March 1, 2024. They can submit entries (video and associated documentation) to the CAETS Secretariat using a Dropbox or WeTransfer to ruth.a.david@outlook.com by the due date. 

The entries submitted will be forwarded to CAERTS after due internal scrutiny. The winners will be announced by the end of March 2024 and at CAETS meeting will be held from July 1 to 4, 2024. 

The CAETS Communication prize will cover the registration fee to the annual conference as well as travel, accommodation (up to $SOOO USD) in addition to a $SOOO USD monetary award. 

CAETS Communications Prize 2024 

Since its inception in 2022, the CAETS Communications Prize annually honours technological scientists and engineers for their ability to communicate complex ideas simply and engagingly to the public, especially young people and students. The first recipient of this award was Prof. Jayanta Mukhopadhyay of IIT Kharagpur.
