AICTE has launched the second edition of the IDE Bootcamp, with over 3,000 student innovators and Innovation Ambassadors from institutions across India participating in the five-day event from September 23 to 27, 2024.

AICTE Launches Second Edition of IDE Bootcamp

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Chairman, Prof. T.G. Sitharam launched the second edition of the Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp. This five-day event, held from September 23 to 27, 2024, brings together over 3,000 student innovators and Innovation Ambassadors from higher education institutions across India.

Organised by the Ministry of Education, AICTE, and the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC) in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, this initiative aims to strengthen the innovation, design, and entrepreneurial skills of student innovators across India. Startup founders and business leaders will offer motivational talks, sharing valuable real-world experiences and insights.

IDE Bootcamp

The IDE Bootcamp promises an immersive experience that cultivates essential skills in innovation, design, and entrepreneurship. Participants will receive guidance from national and international experts in product design, ergonomics, design thinking, and pitching skills through intensive training sessions.

In his inaugural address, Prof. T.G. Sitharam said, “This initiative exemplifies the government’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India. In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, the IDE Bootcamp aims to position India as a global leader in innovation-driven enterprises, empowering the next generation of innovators.”

AICTE Vice Chairman Dr. Abhay Jere added, “This initiative is set to empower a new generation of innovators and entrepreneurs, contributing to India’s growth in the global innovation landscape. With the IDE Bootcamp's second edition, India is taking another significant step toward strengthening its innovation ecosystem and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of its youth.”

The Bootcamp is being hosted across nine institutions:

  • IIM Sambhalpur, Sambalpur
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat
  • National Institute of Technology, Mangalore
  • Institute of Management and Research (MGM University), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
  • Amity University Rajasthan, Jaipur
  • Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally, Kottayam
  • Integral University, Lucknow
  • SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Trichy
  • Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), Visakhapatnam

The Wadhwani Foundation is delivering expert-led entrepreneurship education and high-quality training modules as part of this collaboration, aiming to equip participants with the skills needed to excel in today’s fast-changing business landscape. During the inaugural edition of the IDE Bootcamp, 25 Bootcamps were held in three phases, successfully training over 6,000 students.
