BITS Pilani Shines Bright: Tops QS Sustainability Rankings 2024 Among Private Colleges

QS Sustainability Rankings 2024: BITS Pilani has secured the top spot among private institutes and stands at 7th position among all institutes in India QS Sustainability Rankings 2024. Among the QS World University Sustainability Rankings 2024, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has attained the top spot among private institutes and the 7th position overall in India. Notably, among the 56 Indian universities listed in the rankings, BITS Pilani stands out for its sustainability efforts. 

The rankings are established through evaluating performance across nine critical domains categorized under three main areas: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance. BITS Pilani has excelled globally by demonstrating outstanding achievements in the objective of the following Sustainable Development Goals:

• Climate Action
• Responsible Consumption and Production
• Sustainable Cities and Communities
• Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
• Decent Work and Economic Growth
• Affordable and Clean Energy
• Clean Water and Sanitation
• No Poverty

One notable of BITS Pilani's dedication to sustainability is the creation of the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Waste to Energy. This pioneering center is dedicated to tackling environmental issues while fostering innovation. Its primary focus lies in repurposing agricultural waste into a valuable resource, benefiting diverse stakeholders.
