Chances of JEE Advanced 2024 Exam Date Change Amid Lok Sabha Phase 6 Elections on May 25

The General Election 2024 schedule has been announced and phase 6 of the election will be held on May 25. Will this lead to rescheduling the JEE Advanced exam set to be held on May 26? 

IIT Madras announced the JEE Advanced exam date in December last year. The JEE Advanced exam date has been set as May 26 with registration starting on April 15 for foreign nationals and April 21 for Indian nationals. 

Now with Lok Sabha elections set to be held across the nation between April 19 and June 1 across seven phases, the dates of this national-level entrance exam and many state-level entrance exams can be rescheduled.

It's been confirmed that JEE (Main), NEET-UG, and CUET-UG dates won't change due to the elections. JEE (Main), slated for April 4 to 15, falls outside the election schedule. NEET-UG is set for May 5, with no voting scheduled on May 5 or the days immediately before or after. For CUET-UG, online registration is ongoing, and while the exam window remains unchanged from May 15 to 31, specific dates may be adjusted later after registrations conclude.

On the other hand, JEE Advanced is to be held a day after phase 6 of the Lok Sabha election. Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha election is on May 25 and the JEE Advanced exam is on May 26. Given potential travel disruptions and candidate concerns due to the elections, IIT Madras, the exam organizer, may consider rescheduling. Any changes will be communicated well in advance.

Phase 6 of polling, on May 25, covers 57 constituencies across seven states: Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and NCT of Delhi.
