Come March, IIT (ISM) to reopen campus for offline classes in phases
The institute administration gave its nod to welcome all students to the campus except the undergraduate students registered through JEE Advanced (2021).
The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) IIT (ISM) Dhanbad will reopen the campus for physical classes in a phased manner following strict COVID protocols. The institute administration gave its nod to welcome all students to the campus except the undergraduate students registered through JEE Advanced (2021).
The institute tweeted, “Finally, Campus #reopens for all students. Off late, the administration has given its nod to welcome all students in the campus, except the undergraduate students registered through JEE Advanced (2021). #campusreopens @EduMinOfIndia.”
It further wrote, “Phase wise entry of students in the campus will be completed by first week of March, 2022. All students are requested to kindly abide by the Covid-19 protocols and general guidelines instituted by the administration. #iitism #campusreopens @EduMinOfIndia6.”
Meanwhile, IIT Kharagpur has also announced that it will resume offline classes from March 2022. The institute had suspended offline classes amid an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases in January 2022. As per a report published in The Telegraph, the Technology Students’ Gymkhana carried out a survey to know how many students want to return to the campus. They will share the data with the IIT administration to help them fix slots for the students’ arrival and create quarantine facilities on the campus.
At the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, the authorities have asked students in the third and fourth year to arrive on the campus from February 16.
