The best medicine as of now for coronavirus is social distancing, frequent use of sanitizer, and handwashing at regular intervals. In work areas, many people tend to share common hand sanitizer which might lead to issues.
NMAM, Nitte has designed and developed a hand sanitizer dispenser which will provide sanitizers upon sensing the presence of the hand. The product has features like automatic hand detection, indication for power, and sanitizer quantity in the system.
The product was launched by Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte. The principal during a meeting addressed the issue of rising coronavirus cases in the country and mentioned the need for such innovation during critical situations like COVID-19.
Suryanarayana K, professor, department of electrical and electronics engineering mentioned that the sanitize dispenser has been made possible due to the constant support received from the management, principal, and department during the project execution phase.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country has crossed 75,000 marks with 3,722 new cases in the past 24 hours, as per the data released by Health Ministry stated. The death toll due to the coronavirus has risen to 2,549. The total active coronavirus cases in the country were at 49,219 while 26,234 have been cured of the virus. The health ministry says 70% of deaths have occurred due to co-morbidities.
