Engineering student ends life in Bengaluru
The student identified as Nitin was studying in AMC Engineering College. The police said he was under depression for being away from his parents who are currently residing in Dubai.
An engineering student from Kerala has allegedly committed suicide by slitting his throat at the AMC Engineering College in Bannerghatta locality of Bengaluru.
The student identified as Nitin , 19, hailed from Koyalandi village near Padini Zaria region in Kozhikode district of Kerala, the Bengaluru police said. The student’s parents live in Dubai and the police are suspecting that the reason he committed suicide is because of the lack of attention from parents. He was admitted to the hospital by his brother.
The student slit his throat with a knife in the washroom of the college. According to the Bannerghatta police, the student joined the college on December 1 and took up the CES course for the first year. The police said the student was under depression for being away from his parents who are in Dubai. He made repeated calls to his parents after he joining the college.
The police have recorded statements from his roommates and fellowmates. The student’s classmates have informed the police that the boy was calling his parents and arguing with them that they should come down to see him.
