GATE 2025 Admit Card Live Updates: IIT Roorkee has postponed the GATE 2025 admit card dates on its official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The admit card will be made available on January 27, 2025. Candidates who have successfully submitted their GATE 2025 application form can download the hall ticket. The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, in two sessions. GATE 2025 Admit Card Live Updates - IIT Roorkee has rescheduled the GATE 2025 hall ticket on the official website. Candidates can download the admit card from the GOAPS portal. The admit card will carry the information regarding the examination and the candidate. GATE, also known as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is one of the reputable entrance examinations organised for applicants who want to pursue higher studies, such as M.Tech and PhD, in institutions such as IITs, IISc, NITs, etc. 

This year, the GATE exam is being conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee). The GATE is conducted annually to test candidate’s knowledge and understanding of various undergraduate subjects, such as engineering, technology, science, architecture, life sciences, etc. 

GATE, also known as Gratitude Aptitude Test in Engineering, is a reputed national-level entrance exam conducted yearly to offer admissions to top Indian institutes like IITs, IIITs, and NITs. Candidates who want to pursue higher-degree programs, such as M.E/M. Tech, PhD can apply for the GATE examination. Last year, around 8.2 lakh students registered for the GATE examination, out of which around 6.5 lakh candidates had appeared for the entrance test.

How to Download GATE 2025 Hall Ticket?

The GATE exam admit card will be available online at the GOAPS portal. Applicants who have successfully registered for the exam can download the admit card. The hall ticket must be downloaded properly and before the exam date. The step-by-step process to download the admit card is as follows -

  • Visit the official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in
  • Click on the GOAPS portal and log in using the credentials.
  • Applicants must provide their enrollment ID and password to log in.
  • After submitting the details, candidates will be redirected to the download page. 
  • The GATE admit card will be displayed on the screen. 
  • Check all the details carefully and download.

GATE 2025 Exam Dates

IIT Roorkee has announced the GATE 2025 exam dates on the official website. Candidates can also find the dates in the information brochure. IIT Roorkee will conduct the GATE exam on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, in two sessions  - Forenoon (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) and Afternoon (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm).     GATE 2025 Two Paper Combination

    The GATE 2025 two-paper concept allows candidates to select two subjects instead of one. Candidates must choose two subjects from the list of combinations approved by the GATE authorities. Opting for two-paper combinations in GATE enhances students' skills and knowledge, improving their chances of acceptance into engineering. Recently, GATE has added new two-paper combination list for expand candidate's choices. 

    In the GATE second paper concept, the primary paper is related to the candidate’s undergraduate discipline. On the other hand, the secondary paper allows the candidate to apply their knowledge in the related field.

  • Q:   Can I do M.Tech in IIT Madras without GATE?

    A:

    MTech admission at IIT Madras is primarily based on GATE scores, followed by COAP counselling. However, as per the basic eligibility criteria mentioned on the official website of IIT Madras, getting admission at the institute without qualifying for the GATE entrance exam is possible. For this, candidates must have a BTech degree from one of the IITs, with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10). Such candidates can directly apply for MTech admission through the official IIT Madras website. These applications are then reviewed by the respective departments before taking the final admission decision.

    Q:   How much percentile is required for NIT Sikkim?

    A:

    To get admission at NIT Sikkim, candidates muat have certain percnetile in the course they want to apply. Candidate are eligible for further entrance exams and counselling process, once they qualify the eligibility criteria of NIT Sikkim, which are as follows:

    A:

    The university accepts various national-based entrance exam score as per course requisite. For BTech, IISC Bangalore accepts JEE Mains and JEE Advance score. Moreover, for MTech, the university accepts GATE, COAP scores. The table below will clear the selection criteria for few of the top courses:

    Q:   Can I get MTech in IIT Bombay with GATE?

    A:

    Yes, GATE score is required to get admission to IIT Bombay course. However, aspirants who have not qualified GATE can also get admission based on written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round. In order to be eligible to apply for the course, an aspirant must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for MTech course.

    Q:   Can I do M.Tech at IISc without GATE?

    A:

    No, candidate who are looking for admission at IISC Bangalore need to have a valid GATE score. However, 70% GATE score + 30% performance in written test (100% GATE based for Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Materials Engg.) + COAP counselling will be accepted. Apart from this, students might face some problems while downloading the GATE hall ticket 2024. The problem might be due to slow internet connectivity or a heavy load on the server. In such situations, candidates should try downloading the admit card after a short duration. In case any candidate forgets their application ID/Enrollment ID or password, they can reset it. In case a candidate has forgotten their password, they can reset it from the GOAPS portal.

    Here are some general facts about the GATE 2025 exam -

    • GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
    • It is jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and seven IITs (Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee, and Guwahati)
    • The exam is organised by IISc or one of the IITs on a rotational basis. 
    • The GATE score is valid for three years, from the date of the result declaration, and can be used for admission to postgraduate programs, such as MTech/M.E/PhD in premier institutes like IITs, IISc, NITs, and other government institutes.
