HITS Admissions 2025-26 Starts

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) has opened admissions for the academic year 2025-2026. As part of its commitment to fostering academic excellence, and sportsmanship, HITS offers an extensive merit-based scholarship program worth INR 5 crore. These scholarships are designed to support students across various categories, making quality education accessible to deserving candidates while encouraging holistic development. Candidates can apply for admissions through HITSEEE and HITSCAT, with deadlines set for April 25 and May 14, 2025, respectively.

HITSEEE will be conducted from April 28 to May 3, 2025, followed by counselling sessions from May 12 to 19, 2025. Classes for Engineering, Architecture, and Design programs will begin in July 2025. HITSCAT is scheduled for May 19 and 20, 2025, with counselling from June 2 to June 9, 2025, to guide students in choosing the right programs and career paths. Classes for non-engineering programs will also commence in July 2025.

HITSEEE and HITSCAT Entrance Examinations

HITSEEE (HITS Engineering Entrance Examination) is a gateway for aspiring students to excel in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, and Design. There will be a multiple-choice format, testing their proficiency in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and General Awareness. HITSEEE applications for B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Des., and M.Tech. Integrated Programs are now open. Interested candidates can register online.

HITSCAT (HITS Common Aptitude Test) application form will be available from December 4, 2024, for programs offered by the School of Liberal and Creative Arts (SLiCA), School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS), School of Management (SoM) BBA, School of Health Sciences (SoHS), and School of Law (SoL), including B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), and B.Sc.

Scholarship Programs at HITS

Q:   Does Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science offer scholarship?

A:

Yes, HITS offers various scholarships to meritorious students and students belonging to SC/ ST/ EWS category. Recently, the institute also added scholarship schemes for the wards of Covid warriors. All Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science scholarship programmes are mentioned below:

  1. SC/ ST Scholarship Government of India: Candidates, who belong to Tamil Nadu and have completed Class 12, are eligible for this scholarship. The annual income of the parents should not exceed INR 1 LPA. The candidates should not be in receipt of another scholarship/assistance from other sources. The scholarship can be renewed every year.
  2. Merit cum Means Scholarship: The top scorers in Class 12 are awarded financial aid to pursue their higher studies in HITS. This scholarship is aimed at meritorious students from weaker sections.
  3. Sports Scholarship: It gives special importance to the students who have excelled in sports over the years under its Sports Quota.
  4. Dr Elizabeth Verghese Founder Scholarship: This scholarship has been instituted to empower girls with academic potential to pursue higher education and who are from lower-income families.
  5. Merit Scholarship: The institute offers a tuition fee waiver for meritorious students.

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science offers both need-based and merit-based scholarships to the eligible students. Also, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science has instituted Hindustan Teaching Research Fellowships (HTRF) for eligible candidates.

Additionally, Dr Elizabeth Verghese Founder Scholarship is offered to meritorious girl students from weaker financial backgrounds to puruse higher education.

The university's K.C.G. Verghese merit-based scholarship program offers substantial discounts and waivers, supporting students from diverse backgrounds and emphasising its dedication to inclusive education and academic excellence. The K.C.G. Verghese Scholarship Program offers a 100% tuition fee waiver for top rankers in Plus 2 or equivalent exams. Additionally, the program extends dedicated scholarships to children of defence personnel and martyrs, specially-abled individuals, and top performers in university entrance exams (HITSEEE and HITSCAT), ensuring comprehensive support through significant fee discounts.

The program offers special fee structures for children of defence personnel, martyrs, specially-abled, and economically disadvantaged students. Female students benefit from initiatives promoting women in higher education. A sports excellence scholarship provides high-achieving athletes with fee waivers, accommodation, and training.
