DCM Shriram Ltd, India's second-largest Chlor-Alkali manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai. This strategic partnership aims to advance research and development (R&D) in the chemical industry, combining ICT Mumbai's academic excellence with DCM Shriram's industrial expertise.
The MoU was signed in a formal ceremony attended by Prof. Aniruddha Pandit, Vice Chancellor of ICT Mumbai, and Dr. Debabrata Rautaray, Chief Product Development & Innovation Officer of DCM Shriram Chemicals.
Through this collaboration, ICT Mumbai will conduct specialised R&D projects tailored to DCM Shriram Chemicals' objectives. The identified focus areas include Chemical Engineering and Processing, Epoxy Polymers and Composites, Water Treatment Chemicals, and Bio & Sustainable Materials.
These projects will be supervised by designated experts from ICT, ensuring high standards of academic and research rigour. DCM Shriram Ltd will work closely with ICT to align project goals and timelines, facilitating the seamless integration of research outcomes into practical applications.

Their industrial expertise in the sector will allow the ICT faculty and scientists to identify relevant research areas and will enable them to carry out translational research. Our graduating students will also develop a familiarity with the operations of DCM Shriram as a future career option."
