IIIT Bangalore Launches Multi-Cloud Certification Program for Non-Tech Professionals
The International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) has expanded its educational offerings by introducing an Executive Post-Graduate Certificate program in Cloud and DevOps, in collaboration with upGrad. As a pioneering online course, it stands out by providing insights into Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), encompassing areas assessed in AWS and Azure certifications.
This program offers an in-depth exploration of different cloud platforms, with a strong emphasis on DevOps practices and advanced topics such as DevSecOps and SynOps. Each module enables participants to deploy web applications through comprehensive hands-on training, equipping them for positions involving the deployment and management of web applications in cloud settings.
Prof Debabrata Das, Director, IIIT Bangalore said, “DevOps serves as a distinct approach to enterprise software development, emphasizing the necessity of cooperation, automation, and communication between software developers and IT operations teams. IIIT-B with its expertise in cloud development and DevOps has developed this comprehensive programme to meet future demands, thereby enabling the nation to build skills and expertise in this very important technical area.”
Executive Post-Graduate Certificate program in Cloud and DevOps
Through more than 50 live training sessions, learners will develop core DevOps skills such as continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC). They will also learn to design scalable microservices architectures, implement robust monitoring and logging, and utilize AI tools for code analysis, security enhancement, and process automation.
“The launch of this program is a direct response to the surging demand for DevOps and Cloud computing that we’ve been observing. In the last one year, we’ve seen nearly 1.4 lakh learners sign up for our free Tech & Data courses, and hence, this program with IIIT-B will strike the right chord with tech and even non-tech enthusiasts. Industry reports suggest that more than half of businesses are expected to integrate industry-specific Cloud platforms by 2028, underscoring the transformation of Cloud technology from a disruptive innovation to an essential business tool. Yet, finding skilled DevOps professionals poses a significant challenge, with over 19% of recruiters facing difficulties in hiring experienced individuals. Notably, reports indicate that organisations implementing DevOps methodologies manage to deploy code up to 46 times more often and achieve a 96% higher success rate in their deployments compared to conventional development practices.
