IIIT Delhi ties up with Fast Retailing to sponsor education of 5 deprived students

The Fast Retailing Educational Scholarship will be given to those five qualified students of IIIT Delhi who have high potential and seek financial aid for studies. 

Fast Retailing, a public Japanes multinational retail holding company, has collaborated with the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi to create the Fast Retailing Educational Sponsorship Programme for underprivileged students with high potential. 

After receiving good response from the students and their parents, the company has announced to open the next batch of applications as soon as possible. The sponsorship programme will be funded by Fast Retailing. It will cover full tuition and related costs for a total of five freshman students a year, covering either a full four-year period for bachelor’s degree students or a two-year period for master’s degree students. 

Five qualified students are already pursuing undergraduate degrees under the educational sponsorship programme. Apart from financial sponsorship, the qualified students will also be able to participate in Japanese language and culture studies and do internship at UNIQLO India. Candidates who satisfy certain requirements will also be eligible to join Fast Retailing in Japan or UNIQLO in India to help leverage the skills they develop during their studies.  

Eligibility Criteria 

Students need to fulfil the below-mentioned criteria to become eligible for the scholarship.

  • Students enrolled in a full-time bachelors/masters computer educational programme at IIIT Delhi and studying in first year. 
  • 12th grade (75%+)(for bachelors and masters candidates).  
  • Bachelors grade (7.5+ CGPA) (for masters candidates only). 
  • Projects/researches executed.
  • Participation in hackathons and extra-curricular activities. 
  • Economically weak (To be recommended by IIITD).
  • Enabling female empowerment. 
  • Not enrolled in any other scholarship or support programme.
