IIIT Hyderabad launches course on machine learning for chemistry, drug design

The 12-week course is scheduled to begin from March 10 and is open to students, researchers, and professionals with a science background.

IHub-Data, in association with the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad, is offering a 12-week course on ‘Machine Learning for Chemistry and Drug Design’. The course is scheduled to begin from March 10 and is open to students, researchers, and professionals with a science background. The course is also suitable for undergraduates and professionals with experience in computer science who want to apply AIML to other fields.  

The course offers fundamental, theoretical and practical concepts in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) and their application for drug discovery. The course will include a series of lectures covering topics in both sciences and AI/ML to help build a strong theoretical foundation. It will also offer hands-on tutorial sessions to help the participants pick-up practical problem-solving abilities.  

The fee for undergraduate and postgraduate students is INR 7,500 and INR 15,000 for PhD and postdoctoral students and INR 30,000 for industry professionals. 

IIIT Hyderabad invites applications for dual degree programmes via lateral entry 

The institute has also invited applications for lateral entry mode of admission to its dual degree programmes. The institute offers admission to dual degree programmes under lateral entry via Lateral Entry Entrance Examination (LEEE) 2022, which is scheduled to be held on April 16, 2022.   

Under this scheme, graduates of dual degree programmes earn two degrees: BTech and MS. The masters degree requires completion of a research thesis. The programme prepares students for research-oriented jobs and higher studies. The duration of the programme is four years.
