IIT Bhubaneswar's '100 Cube' Startup Initiative Inaugurated By Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a initiative of IIT-Bhubaneswar's Research and Entrepreneurship Park that aims at creating 100 startups with a valuation of Rs 100 crore each by 2036. Check details here 

Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the two-day 100 Cube Start-up conclave at IIT Bhubaneswar, Research and Entrepreneurship Park (REP). During the launch he said that IIT Bhubaneswar’s Research and Entrepreneurship Park will provide essential resources, mentorship, seed capital and access to potential investors to create 100 start-ups, each with a valuation of INR 100 crores by the 100th anniversary of Odisha in 2036.

The 100-Cube Start-up Initiative at IIT Bhubaneswar will shape the future of the entrepreneurship landscape of Odisha and India by creating a conducive environment. During the event, IIT Bhubaneswar also signed MoUs with 15 companies to build strategic collaborations for achieving the 100 Cube objective. Ranjit Rath, CMD, Oil India Limited, handed over grant cheques worth INR 3.5 crores to 4 start-ups incubated by IIT Bhubaneswar. 

IIT Bhubaneswar, Research and Entrepreneurship Park

The Research and Entrepreneurship Park is set to expand from its present 20,000 square feet area to about 80,000 square feet over the next two years with the support of INR 130 crore from the Ministry of Education. The Park is a platform for nurturing and supporting innovative ideas and early-stage startups in various fields such as technology, engineering, and social entrepreneurship. 

Secretary, Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Sanjay K. Murthy; Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Sanjay Kumar; Director, IIT Bhubaneswar, Prof. ShreepadKarmalkar; Chairman, Board of Governors, Dr.Rajendra Prasad Singh; representatives of foreign governments, delegates from the industry, particularly the deep tech sector, academia, start-ups, students, and other eminent business leaders were also present at the event.
