IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Campus: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Abu Dhabi has started its academic journey by inducting its very first batch of students. A total of 19 students have enrolled in the MTech programme, which focuses on Energy Transition and Sustainability. 

This programme officially commenced on January 29, marking a significant milestone for the institution. As of now, the operations of IIT Delhi within Abu Dhabi are temporarily housed at the campus of Zayed University, indicating a collaborative effort to facilitate this academic venture in the region. 

IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Admission 

The admission process included submission of application, shortlisting, interview for candidates with experience and written test with less than one year of experience followed by an interview. IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi considered applicants with at least four years of engineering degree or three years of engineering and two years of masters in engineering with minimum CGPA of 7.5. 

The institute also asked for English language tests including TOEFL or IELTS. For masters course, they also need to have a minimum of one year of experience or 350 score in GATE or 150 score in GRE. 

PM Modi Interacts with IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Students 

Earlier on February 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with the inaugural group of students at the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Campus. During his interaction with the students, marking the commencement of his two-day visit to the UAE, Modi emphasized that the establishment of this campus not only opens a fresh chapter in the cooperative relationship between India and the UAE but also serves to unite the young populations of both nations. 

The opening of a campus of IIT Delhi in the UAE was envisioned by the leadership of the two countries in February 2022. The project, a joint collaboration between the IIT Delhi and Abu Dhabi Department of Education & Knowledge (ADEK), aims to provide quality higher education opportunities to students globally.
