IIT Delhi Hosts US NSA National Security Advisor in Collaboration with I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, in partnership with the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, hosted Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor (NSA) of the United States. During the event, Director Prof. Rangan Banerjee emphasised the strong ongoing collaborations between IIT Delhi and American institutions, noting that over 25% of IITD's 4000+ publications from the past year were co-authored with international partners, with the largest share 8% attributed to collaborations with the United States.
Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor (NSA) of the United States delivered an insightful talk on 'The United States and India: Building a Shared Future.' He delivered a key address at IIT Delhi, setting a positive trajectory for joint technological advancements between India and the United States in the academic sphere. His speech highlighted the progress of the India-U.S. strategic partnership and explored potential future alliances to further deepen the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
He concluded his address on an optimistic note saying, “being here at IIT Delhi with young technologists, entrepreneurs and policy makers who will take this generational project forward, I have every reason to believe that within the next decade we will see American and Indian firms working together to build the next generation of semiconductor technologies, American and Indian astronauts’ conducting cutting edge research and space exploration together, American and Indian researchers contributing to a new explosion and life saving vaccines, American and Indian engineering students developing new innovations together right here at IIT Delhi, and American and Indian leaders propelling our partnership and our future torque with the American statesman and scientists.”
IIT Delhi's existing collaborations with U.S. academia and industry are set to grow, with ongoing discussions to expand these partnerships. These initiatives aim to boost investment in India's dynamic startup ecosystem and promote joint research projects, further reinforcing the India-U.S. relationship.

Q: How long is BTech in IIT Delhi?
The duration of IIT Delhi BTech courses is four years. The full-time degree programme is divided into eight semesters. During the BTech course duration, the students have to do compulsory foundation courses in the areas of basic sciences, humanities, engineering sciences, and social sciences along with the departmental core and elective courses. Moreover, IIT Delhi offers internship opportunities to UG students, the duration of short-term internships is 1.5 to 2 months and is 6 months for long-term internships.
Apart from this, the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi also offer an integrated BTech and MTech programme. The duration of this dual degree course is five years against the standard duration of both the courses - BTech (four years) and MTech (two years).
