IIT Gandhinagar to host global meet on nuclear magnetic resonance
The virtual event, which is being held from from March 6 to 9, is coinciding with the 27th meeting of National Magnetic Resonance Society (NMRS 2022) and will bring together scientists working in the allied research areas of magnetic resonance.
Promoting magnetic resonance activities in India
The discipline of chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is hosting the 27th meeting of National Magnetic Resonance Society (NMRS 2022) along with an international conference on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR): Chemistry, Biology and Drug Discovery from March 6 to 9, 2022.
NMR spectroscopy is the lifeline for various branches of science and MRI is the offshoot of NMR spectroscopy and is an indispensable diagnostic tool in healthcare. The virtual meeting and international conference will bring together scientists from various parts of the world to discuss their recent findings and deliver lectures in the research areas of biomolecular NMR, solid-state NMR, structural biology, MRI and synthetic organic chemistry.
The annual symposium has nine plenary talks and 40 invited talks, six award lectures, in addition to a number of short talks and students’ oral and poster presentations. The event will serve as an academic feast for the scientific fraternity, a motivation for budding scientists, and a platform to share the ideas and encourage long-range collaborations.
To promote and accelerate the magnetic resonance activities in India, the National Magnetic Resonance Society was incorporated as a registered body in 1996 by a group of practising Indian magnetic resonance spectroscopists, with its registered office at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore.
