Nagaland University (NU) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to provide administrative and faculty assistance, offer internship and short-term training programs, and provide guidance for infrastructure development. The MoU was formally signed by NU's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jagadish K. Patnaik, and IIT Guwahati's Director, Professor Devendra Jalihal, at the premises of IIT Guwahati. Faculty and officials from both institutions were present to witness this significant agreement.

The signing of the MoU holds significant importance within the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This policy places a strong emphasis on fostering collaborations and enhancing the quality of higher education across India. The MoU signifies a proactive step towards realizing these objectives by promoting academic exchange, fostering research collaboration, and facilitating resource sharing between Nagaland University (NU) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati.

By entering into such partnerships, the NEP 2020 seeks to elevate the overall academic standard, stimulate interdisciplinary research endeavours, and facilitate the comprehensive development of students. This aligns with the broader vision of the NEP 2020 to transform the education landscape in India, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of society and the global knowledge economy.

Through concerted efforts and strategic collaborations like this MoU, both institutions contribute to the overarching goals of the NEP 2020, thereby fostering a robust educational ecosystem conducive to innovation, excellence, and inclusive growth. The collaborations between universities and premier institutes play a crucial role in realising the goals set forth by the NEP 2020 and advancing the educational landscape in India.
