IIT Guwahati will host the IISF from Nov 30 to Dec 3, 2024. As India’s largest science event, IISF brings together thousands annually to foster collaboration, inspire youth, and drive economic growth through science.

The India International Science Festival (IISF) will be held at IIT Guwahati from November 30 to December 3, 2024. This year, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is the nodal department, with CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram, coordinating the event. The 10th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) will be held at IIT Guwahati, Assam. With the theme "Transforming India into an S&T-driven Global Manufacturing Hub," the event underscores the government’s vision to integrate science and technology with industrial growth, positioning India as a global leader in manufacturing.

Launched in 2015 and first hosted at IIT Delhi, IISF is a unique platform for science-society engagement conceptualized by Vijnana Bharati. For the first time, this prestigious festival will take place in Northeast India.

Thematic Events of IISF 2024

IISF features a variety of themes designed to engage both scientific communities and the general public in diverse discussions and activities. This year, several new themes have been introduced to address the unique needs of Northeast India. Some of the key themes include: Mega Science and Technology Exhibition, Make in India, Make for the World, Pragya Bharat, Nari Shakti – Women’s Development to Women-led Development in S&T, S&T Hackathon, Young Scientists Conclave, Thought Leaders Round Table, Mission Start-up, Science Beyond Borders, Vision Sansad, Saga of Science Chronicles, and The Taste of the Hills, among others.
