Karthik's parents, residents of Nalgonda district, when didn't get any response on their calls, they rushed to the college to find out his whereabouts.

The IIT-Hyderabad warden lodged a complaint with the Sangareddy police on July 19, stating that the parents of a second-year B Tech student, Karthik, were enquiring about his whereabouts.

The deceased student's parents have claimed that he was a bright student and the first tribal from their village to study at an IIT.
