The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad has launched a week-long capacity-building program centred on hydraulics in mining machines. Organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the program is tailored to enhance the expertise of professionals in the mining and construction machinery industries. With a focus on strengthening industry-academia collaboration, the initiative aims to bridge knowledge gaps and drive technological advancements in these critical sectors.
The one-week program is designed to enhance the operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills of professionals working with hydraulic systems in mining machinery. By bringing together experts, industry leaders, and practitioners, the program aims to offer valuable insights and hands-on experience, further strengthening participants' technical expertise.
The event was graced by Prof. Prem Vrat (Chairman, Board of Governors), Prof. Sukumar Mishra (Director), and Prof. Somnath Chattopadhyay (Head of Mechanical Engineering). A diverse fellow of 35 executives from leading organizations like NLC India, Hindustan Zinc, Tata Steel, and Volvo Construction Equipment is participating.
