IIT JEE 2024: Check JEE Mains Cutoff for JEE Advanced; Registration Starts on April 21
JEE Advanced 2024 exam date is May 26 and the registrations will be starting on April 21. JEE Main 2024 session 1 answers keys have been released. In this report check how much marks is needed in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2024.
To be eligible for JEE Advanced, candidates must be among the top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main rank list. NTA releases the JEE Main cutoff for JEE Advanced after the exams in both sessions are released. JEE Main session 2 exams will be held between April 4 to 15, and the final results of both sessions will be out on April 25. The minimum percentile needed to be eligible for JEE Advanced will be available category-wise with the session 2 results. The JEE Main session 1 result will be out on February 12.
JEE Advanced 2024 exam will be held on May 26 and the registration will start on April 21. As per the previous year, the minimum percentile in JEE Mains to qualify for JEE Advanced was 90.7788642 for Common Rank List, 75.6229025 for Gen-EWS, 73.6114227 for OBC-NCL, 51.9776027 for SC, 37.2348772 for ST, and 0.0013527 for PwD candidates.
This year the JEE Main cutoff is expected to rise, as per a few experts and students. This is because the shifts in JEE Main 2024 session 1 exam were easier than the previous years. However, the cutoff will depend on both sessions of JEE Main 2024. Therefore, the minimum JEE Main marks needed to qualify for JEE Advanced cannot be predicted after session 1.
However, considering the past few years' trends, the minimum marks in JEE Main for JEE Advanced can be around 89 to 90 percentile. The past trends of the JEE Main cutoff for advanced can be checked below:

Note that, IIT Madras has already released the number of candidates to be selected for JEE Advanced in each category. Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in the BE/BTech Paper of JEE (Main) 2024. The number of candidates to be allowed in JEE Advanced 2024 category-wise is shown in the table and graph below.
