IIT Kanpur and NMTronics India Team Up to Launch Electronics Manufacturing Center

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and NMTronics India have joined hands to establish the NMTronics Center of Excellence for Electronics Manufacturing and Skills Development at IIT Kanpur. This partnership highlights a significant step in bridging industry and academia collaboration aiming to drive pioneering research, technological breakthroughs, and skill enhancement in electronics manufacturing.

The center is designed to enhance research and development collaborations and provide advanced educational opportunities through IIT Kanpur's programs. It will feature state-of-the-art technology, including a fully automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Line.

The collaboration was formalised by signing of a MoU by Prof. Kantesh Balani, Dean of Resources and Alumni at IIT Kanpur, and Mr. Soni Saran Singh, CEO, Founder, and Managing Director of NMTronics India Pvt. Ltd, witnessed by Prof. S. Ganesh, Director of IIT Kanpur. 

As per the official press release, the centre is expected to be operational by August 2024 on the IIT Kanpur campus. It will offer support for IIT Kanpur's course curriculum, provide advanced certification programs for industry professionals, and serve as a new product introduction (NPI) site for startups and small businesses. 

Additionally, the center will facilitate development in semiconductor technologies, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), translating manufacturing concepts into tangible reality.

Under this partnership, NMTronics India Pvt. Ltd. will contribute technical knowledge and offer access to its advanced facilities for joint projects with IIT Kanpur. The collaboration aims to create an environment conducive to innovation, promoting the creation of advanced technologies with practical applications.
