IIT Kanpur and Samsung R&D to Collaborate For Joint Research in AI, Health, and Emerging Technologies

IIT Kanpur: The Samsung R&D Institute, Noida (SRI-Noida) and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) have agreed to a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration is aimed at key areas of development, encompassing joint research initiatives involving IIT Kanpur students, faculty, and Samsung engineers. 

The partnership is geared towards preparing students for industry challenges. The scope of these research projects will cover various fields, including health, visual and framework technologies as well as advanced technology sectors like Generative AI and Cloud computing. Apart from research projects, the MoU seeks to provide opportunities for upskilling Samsung engineers in key technology areas such as AI, Cloud and other emerging technologies.

Under the joint research projects, IIT Kanpur's students and faculty will engage in tackling real-world industry problems, ensuring their efforts are in sync with prevailing market demands. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on collaborative academic contributions, with IIT Kanpur students and faculty being motivated to co-author research papers alongside Samsung engineers.

As part of the upskilling initiatives for Samsung engineers, IIT Kanpur will offer specialized training programs in diverse fields. These programs will leverage the institute's esteemed expertise, leading to a range of educational offerings including degree programs, certifications, and specialized courses.
