IIT Roorkee Opens GATE 2025 FAQs Section: Get Application and Exam Details here

The GATE 2025 application form will soon close on September 26, 2024. Interested candidates can apply at the GOAPS portal—gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Recently, IIT Roorkee activated the GATE 2025 FAQs on its official website. Read down below to know more.

The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted in two sessions on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, for 30 test papers. Candidates who have successfully enrolled for the exam can appear for it. The exam will be held in more than 200 cities across India. Candidates appearing for the exam must download the GATE 2025 admit card, which will be released on January 2, 2025.  

The conducting authorities have activated the GATE 2025 FAQs section on the portal. Candidates can clear all their doubts regarding the examination and application form process. Answering applicants’ questions about whether they can change the exam city or exam paper, the institute said they will be permitted to change the form after the registration deadline and during the GATE application form correction period (November 6, 2024). However, there is no option to change the sessions. 

GATE Registration Last Date and Fees

The last date to submit the GATE 2025 application form is September 26, 2024. Registration for GATE 2025 started on August 28, 2024. Candidates who fail to register within the deadline can still submit their application form by October 7, 2024, by paying a late fee of INR 500. The GATE 2025 application fee for female/SC/ST/PwD category students is INR 900 (during the regular period) and INR 1400 (if paid during the extended period). For other applicants and foreign nationals, the fee is INR 1800 (during the regular period) and INR 2300 (during the extended period). 

Registered candidates can check their GATE 2025 application status at the GOAPS portal by providing their enrollment ID and password. The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) will conduct the GATE 2025 exam on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, in two sessions - Morning (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) and Afternoon (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm)

Q:   When will the GATE 2025 registration start?

IIT Roorkee has REVISED the GATE 2025 application form dates. As per the revised schedule, GATE 2025 registrations had started on 28 August, 2024. The last date for GATE 2025 registration have been extended to October 3, 2024 (without late fees). Earlier, candidates had to submit the application form by 26 September 2024, with regular fees. Candidates will be able to submit the GATE 2025 application form with late fees until October 11, 2024 (extended).

To enroll for the GATE exam, candidates have to pay a requisite fee of INR 900 (for female/SC/ST/PWD candidates) and INR 1800 (for other candidates) during the regular period. A late fee of INR 500 is charged for candidates applying after October 3, 2024.  

Q:   What is the last date of filling the GATE 2025 Application form?

Q:   Can I do M.Tech in IIT Madras without GATE?

A:

MTech admission at IIT Madras is primarily based on GATE scores, followed by COAP counselling. However, as per the basic eligibility criteria mentioned on the official website of IIT Madras, getting admission at the institute without qualifying for the GATE entrance exam is possible. For this, candidates must have a BTech degree from one of the IITs, with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10). Such candidates can directly apply for MTech admission through the official IIT Madras website. These applications are then reviewed by the respective departments before taking the final admission decision.
