IITB student gets Rs 1.16 crore international offer, institute sees all-time high placement record
The highest international offered was Rs 1.16 crore per annum, while the highest domestic package was Rs 62.28 lakh per annum in the phase-I of the placements at the institute.
In all all-time high placement record at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), as many as 1,172 selections including pre-placement offers (PPOs) from 265 companies have been rolled out for the students during the phase-I of the placement season. This year, the highest international offer has been Rs 1.16 crore per annum, while the highest domestic package has been Rs 62.28 lakh per annum.
A statement issued by the University said, “This is an all-time high record for the students being placed during IITB phase-I placements. We are expecting more offers in the coming days.” The phase-I of IITB placements took place between December 1 and December 15, 2019. The statement also notified that the highest number of offers were rolled out by the Engineering and Technology sector.
The institute has received a total of 156 international offers from many countries including the USA, Taiwan, UAE, Singapore, Netherlands, Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

PRE-PLACEMENT OFFERS
As a substitute for the company recruitment tests, a Placement Common Aptitude Test (i.e. PCAT) was introduced in the previous season to reduce the stress of the student and save time. The test has witnessed improved credibility as nearly 50 organizations accepted PCAT scores for initial shortlisting of candidates by replacing their own aptitude tests.
