IITGN invites applications for start early PhD programme

Eligible BTech students from NITs and select colleges can apply till February 9. GATE score is not mandatory for admission. 

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar has invited applications for its start early PhD programme for the 2023-24 academic year. Eligible BTech students from National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and select colleges set to graduate this year can apply by February 9. The institute mentioned that a GATE score is not mandatory for admission to the programme.

Eligibility criteria 

• BTech students from NITs and select colleges who will graduate in 2023 and among the top five rank holders (General/EWS/OBC) or top 10 rank holders (SC/ST) in the department at the end of their pre-final year are eligible to apply. 
• BTech students from IITs who will graduate in 2023 and having a CGPA/CPI not less than 6.0 at the end of their third year are eligible to apply. 

IITGN Start Early PhD Programme Highlights 

• GATE score is NOT mandatory for admission.  

• Candidates are encouraged to appear for GATE for an enhanced stipend rate.
• Travel support up to INR 2 lakh for attending international conferences.
• Support of up to $12,500 may be considered for research at leading Universities/Labs abroad for a period of up to 6 months.
• Monthly stipend of INR 41,000 (For candidates with valid GATE score) or INR 31,000 (for others)
