JEE Advanced 2024: Know Scores of Toppers from Past 11 Years
JEE Advanced 2024 aspirants can check here what the toppers have scored in the last 11 years. Knowing the scores of toppers will give the aspirants a target to chase. Here are some important things to note for a strategic JEE Advanced preparation.
Last year, the JEE Advanced topper, Vavilala Chidvilas Reddy, scored 341 out of 360 marks in the exam. In 2022, the highest score in JEE Advanced was 314 out of 360 marks and the year before that, the top score was 348 out of 360.
The factor that comes into play while considering the highest score in JEE Advanced is the total marks of the paper. JEE Advanced has 2 papers. The toppers are based on the marks the candidates score out of the total marks of both the JEE Advanced papers combined.
Until 2021 the total mark in JEE Advanced was 360. However, in 2020 and 2019 the total marks were 396 and 372 respectively. The table below shows the highest marks of the AIR 1 in JEE Advanced over the past 11 years.

From the above table, the following can be inferred:
- Candidates who wish to achieve AIR 1 must at least score 90% and above in the JEE Advanced exam.
- The total marks in the paper are not predefined and are subject to change.
- Candidates must strive to get 350+ marks in the exam to get a seat in the first 2 rounds of the JEE Advanced counselling.
Last year, a total of 1,89,744 candidates had registered for JEE Advanced, out of which 1,80,372 appeared in the exam and 43,773 were declared qualified.
It is anticipated that IIT Madras will be responsible for organizing the JEE Advanced 2024 exam. The date for the exam is expected to be June 2, 2024, which is the first Sunday of June as per the previous year's trend. To be considered for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam, candidates must have taken the JEE Main 2024 and passed the JEE Advanced qualification criteria, which will be announced along with other details, including the minimum marks required to qualify for JEE Advanced 2024. Typically, candidates who rank among the top 2.5 lakh in JEE Main are eligible for the JEE Advanced exam. Candidates will be allowed to take the JEE Advanced exam twice consecutively. Registration for JEE Advanced 2024 is expected to begin in the last week of April 2024.
