JEE Main 2023 April 15 Live Updates: Shift 1 & 2 Question Paper Analysis, Students Reactions, Answer Key PDF

According to the marking scheme followed, students will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer and a negative marking of -1 will be applicable for every incorrect answer. Unattempted questions or those marked for review will be given zero marks. 

According to previous trends for the JEE Main 2023 January Session, NTA is expected to release the answer key by next week, between April 17 and April 21. In addition to the answer key, NTA will also be releasing response sheets and OMR sheets for candidates on the official website.

The score that candidates get in JEE Main decides the All India Rank and admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is purely based on the All India Rank. Candidates can calculate their probable score using the JEE Main answer key 2023. Students need to follow the below steps to download it:

• Log in with Application Number and Date of Birth/Password

• At the Candidates’ Login Screen, select- “Challenge Answer Key” or “Challenge Recorded Response”

• For Recorded Response, select Question Number, Recorded Answer, and Claimed Answer. Then, add to the claims list

• For Answer Key, enter book number, question number, answer, and claimed answer. Then, add to the claims list

• Make the payment by Debit/Credit/Net banking

• Log in using your JEE Main application form number and date of birth

• Click on the submit button to view the answer on the screen

The NTA will calculate JEE Main 2023 result through the process of normalisation. Inorganic Chemistry had questions from s-block, p-block, Chemical Bonding, Co-ordination Compounds, Ores & Metallurgy. Fact based questions were asked in this section.

Physics difficulty level was Easy. Questions asked from Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Power & Energy, Heat & Thermodynamics, SHM, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Gravitation, Modern Physics, Semiconductors , Communications Systems & Optics. Numerical based questions were reported as Easy to Moderate. More weightage given to Class XII Chapters.

Mathematics was of Moderate Level. Weightage was given to chapters of Algebra and Calculus. In Calculus questions asked from Functions, Limits & Continuity, Application of Derivative, Definite Integrals, Area under curves, & Differential Equations. In Algebra- Matrices, Permutation & Combination, Vectors, 3D Geometry had more than one question, Progressions, Statistics, Binomial Theorem, Mathematical Reasoning & Probability. In Co-ordinate Geometry- Parabola, Circles & Ellipse had mixed concept questions. Both MCQs and Numerical Based questions required lengthy calculations. This section was also tricky as per few students.

The minimum marks certainly depend on the NIT you desire. For other than home-state NIT's you will need a higher rank. Also, it will depend on the engineering discipline you prefer. National Testing Agency conducted the JEE Main 2023 exam for session 2 on April 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15. The exam authority will release the JEE Main 2023 session 2 statistics along with the declaration of the result. As per the reports, it is expected a total of approximately 8.5 lakh candidates appeared in the session 2 exam. As per the statistics,  a total of 8.6 lakh candidates registered for the JEE Main 2023 session 1 exam out of which 8.22 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. JEE Main 2023 session 1 attendance was 95.79%.

The top around 2,50,000 qualifiers of JEE Main will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2023 exam.

As per FIITJEE experts, Physics was rated as easy on the difficulty level. Chapters from Class 12 were given more weightage. Questions were asked from Kinematics, Gravitation, SHM, Heat and Thermodynamics, Circular Motion, Rotational Motion, EM Waves, Electrostatics (Dipole), Communication Systems, Magnetism, AC Circuits, Current Electricity, Modern Physics , Ray and Wave Optics. Numerical based questions were lengthy but easy.

To calculate scores using the JEE main answer key, candidates can use the steps below:

• Download the answer key of JEE Main 2023.
• Now crosscheck the answers in the key with that of the responses submitted by you in the exam.
• If the answer matches then add 4 marks. If not then deduct 1 mark.
• Follow the process and calculate the total score.
