The union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has finally responded to the letter demanding one-time relaxation in JEE Mains 2023 eligibility and said that the matter has been sent to the concerned department.

JEE Mains 2023 eligibility criteria relaxation

JEE Main 2023 eligibility relaxation: Engineering aspirants have been JEE Mains 2023 eligibility relaxation for long. Supporting these candidates, Member of Parliament (MP) Karti P Chidambaram also wrote a letter to education minister demanding one-time exemption for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for candidates who were affected by technical glitches in 2022 exam and ineligible to appear in JEE Main 2023.

The union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has finally responded to the letter and said that the matter has been sent to the concerned department. In a letter, the minister thanked the MP for reaching out to him.

“Thank you for your letter dated December 2, 2022 and December 15, 2022, regarding one-time exemption to relax the eligibility criteria for all students appearing for the JEE Main and advanced exams in 2023. The matter has been sent to the concern department for necessary action,” said Pradhan in the letter.

“The Education Minister dpradhanbjp, EduMinOfIndia has responded to my letter requesting immediate relaxation in the eligibility criteria for #JEE2023. I hope the Govt will look into the requests and concerns of aggrieved students,” the MP said in a tweet.

On December 9, the MP made a zero hour intervention in the winter session of the Parliament urging Pradhan to direct the National Testing Agency (NTA) to relax the eligibility criteria for all JEE Main 2023 aspirants and allow all students to sit for the engineering entrance exam.

Prior to the intervention, Chidambaram also wrote a letter to the union education minister wherein he had argued that both the JEE Main 2022 sessions which were held June and July in 2022 were marred with multiple technical issues such as computer system getting shut down multiple times, frozen screen for several minutes, questions taking too long to load, incomplete questions, etc.

Amid such chaos, many candidates saw a huge decrease in their scores as well as percentile. Above all, last-minute changes in exam centre change restricted many students to take the JEE Main 2022 exam. After the exam, many candidates also faced discrepancies in response sheets and errors in JEE Main 2022 results. Following the scenarios, the MP approached the education minister and requested one time relaxation.

Meanwhile, many candidates are also demanding postponement of JEE Mains 2023 claiming its clash with Board exams.
