JEE Main 2023: NIT Trichy teaching club trains 36 govt school students
IGNITTE, the teaching club of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy, has a team of 49 members studying at NIT Trichy, who assist the students in cracking competitive examinations free of cost.
IGNITTE, the teaching club of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy which trains students of government schools for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and Advanced, conducted a crash course for Class 12 government school students from Trichy and Tirunelveli districts between December 26, 2022 and January 12, 2023.
A total of 16 students from Trichy and 20 from Tirunelveli attended the course. IGNITTE has a team of 49 members studying at NIT Trichy, who assist the students in cracking competitive examinations free of cost.
Apart from training students to get admissions at NITs and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), IGNITTE has helped students get placement in prestigious colleges. The classes were conducted from 9 am to 6 pm at Orion, NIT Trichy. The students were also provided hostel accommodation facility at the institute.
NIT Trichy Director G Aghila met the students and advised them to go all out to cracking JEE and wished them luck in their future endeavours. N Kumaresan, Dean of Faculty Welfare, and R Karvembu, Dean of Students Welfare, also motivated the students. IGNITTE faculty advisor R Manjula thanked the administration and IGNITTE club members for their support and assistance.
NIT Trichy launched the programme in 2016. So far, 150 students have had the chance to undergo training at the institute. Of the four students who cleared both JEE, one got admission to IIT, two students to NIT, and the fourth one cleared NEET. Several other students got placement in leading engineering institutes such as Anna University, the faculty members said.
