After a notification released by the MHRD, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the JEE Main 2020 April exam scheduled to be conducted on April 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11. The new exam dates for JEE Main 2020 April session will be released on March 31 after reassessing the situation.

The NTA has also released a notification in this regard mentioning that JEE Main 2020 admit card that was scheduled to be released on March 20 has also been postponed. The new dates for the admit card will be announced on or after March 31. Candidates will be able to download their admit card from March 31 onwards at nta.jeemain.nic.in. The postponement of JEE Main has been done following the order of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The ministry has released a notification to cancel all the exams including the JEE Main April 2020 exam, CBSE board exams, and others in the wake of spreading coronavirus in the country.

The MHRD issued a directive on March 18 to all education regulators and the CBSE to postpone all exams and evaluation of paper till March 31 to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The order issued by Amit Khare, HRD secretary, reads "Since JEE Mains may require travel by examinees to different towns and the dates may clash with rescheduled CBSE and other board exams, therefore, JEE Mains should be rescheduled and the new dates of JEE Mains will be announced on March 31, after re-assessment of situation."

CBSE has also postponed all its exams from Thursday onwards i.e., March 19 till March 31. According to the official notice by Anurag Tripathi, CBSE secretary, the revised schedule will be communicated by March 31 after the reassessment of the situation.
