Karnataka increases engg course fee by 10%
Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar said the decision to hike engineering fee by 10% was taken by the previous BJP government and could not be reversed.
The fee for undergraduate engineering courses for the 2023-24 academic year will be increased by 10 per cent in Karnataka, Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar said and added that the decision to hike engineering fee by 10% was taken by the previous BJP government and could not be reversed. The minister declared the KCET 2023 results on June 15, 2023.
He said, "The decision to hike engineering fee by 10% was taken by the previous BJP government. In February, there was an official order. It was brought to our notice when we came to power, we examined how it was done. As per procedure, the fee hike was done in deliberation with private colleges. It can't be reversed. Any decision to undo the same will cause confusion among students,” The Times of India reported.
There was a 10% fee hike in 2022 as well. When the consensual agreement was signed between the government and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association in 2021, the hike was mentioned for two years. Karnataka Examination Authority released the KCET result 2023 on June 15. Applicants can check KCET 2023 results at kea.kar.nic.in or cetonline.karnataka.gov.in using login credentials such as registration number and first four letters of name.

Along with the declaration of the results, KEA has also released the KCET 2023 toppers at the official website. In engineering stream, Vignesh Nataraj Kumar secured rank 1 with 97.8% followed by Arjun Krishnaswamy with 97.5% and Samrudh Shetty at 97.1% score.
